Mr Rance told the BBC's Jonathan Head about his fight for justice in a country where he believes the authorities are easily corrupted[
Wonder what gave him that impression ?

Unfortunately the " it will be all right on the night brigade " will still queue up like lemmings to discharge all they have worked for all they're lives into the madhouse .

Some lucky ones will get through but many won't .

To me retirement has to be a much less stressful period in your life ,, who needs all this shit ?
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

Somebody here in TD posted a link to a Facebook page called "Justice For Jesse" a while back and I think this is her family.

The documentary starts with a lie though. The duffer says "I wanted somewhere warm blah blah ... found it when I came to Thailand on the way to Australia..." when what he really meant was "I had a stop over on the way to Australia, met a bar girl, fell in love, and moved to Thailand"/

Just what the BBC fails to mention is the numbers of people not de-frauded.

We have are own shysters in our own countries, commonly known as Banksters

That was a very interesting report but hardly surprising to any farang who knows Thailand.

This guy was married for 9 years, his wife defrauded him by forging his signature so that in its self reinforces my faith that guys relying on usufructs really have nothing at all.

Next point was that the wife was banged up but this guy still does not get his property back and the corrupt lawyers and officials walk free. Quite Normal for Thailand.

Next point is, even though this guy has been royally fuked over he is back living in Thailand, remarried and punched out another kid.

Why even say anything at all.

Vard will never see a Baht of his money, he will die of stress well before any verdict is handed down.

Go balls deep in Thailand and this scenario can play out but I would say it's far from the norm, most guys live happily ever after and have a very nice life in Thailand.

No mention of all the people defrauded in Spain/France, etc.?

I suppose these type of articles attract the attention of those needing content for Thai sites.

    You are quite right Jacky,

Look at all the many scores of thousands of Farang who have purchases Condos in their own name or houses under companies or with Usufruct and the vast majority of them are getting along quite OK.

I mean, the correct way to living in Thailand is to realise one can be fucked over.

Sometimes happens, it's when cases like this appear that the ignorant ones cry.

Thailand is a mad shit house, enter the property game at ones peril.

Think of the many scores of thousand of farangs that came here with love in their heart, and hope in their minds. Some even hoping to make a difference. Sure, lets blame them for being naive fools, TiT etc. Having sunk at least 20mm bht into this place for family and legacy, and having been a founding director of a HK asset management company who has directed investment into Thailand for over two decades, I can hardly play the ignoramus card. But I too am bitterly disappointed, and considerably out of pocket. But more fool me I still want to live here. In Isaan.

Why are you bitterly disappointing ?

If you were that tuned in Business wise and new the Pitfalls of doing business in Thailand why did you not do your business in a real country.

Please don't tell me you fell in love and decided to have a crack.

    Oh yes, typo Sorry.

The question I asked is directly related to his post.

Considering he has told us he was some high flying Business man in Hong Kong where things seemingly work semi normally I'm surprised why he would be bitterly disappointing when it did not in Thailand.

It's been well known from the get go that Thailand is no place to do business based on what one would expect in the real world.

    Ain't gona change either.

I don't think its a post for the Thai haters as you put it Jacky to gloat about , but for relative newcomers to the party , its good to highlight just might where they're dream might end .

No one wishes to see anyone on here end up in the smelly stuff , but people for whatever reason the world over do things on a whim , and it can be bloody costly here as most of us know .

I know of a guy in the UK ( work with his bro ) he has just retired , has a Thai missus in the UK , been married + settled here a long time , his plan all along was to sell his UK house , which he has , buy a flat in the UK then rent that out as a safe bolt hole then to RENT only in Thailand , just incase .

Whats happened in reality , he came over with his missus for a couple of months holiday and came back with the keys to a brand new house , several million I believe .

None of his bros can believe what he has done ,, all done on the spur of the moment , got no reason to believe things won't work out for him and I hope they do , but it shows even some of the level headed thinkers can crumble
