Brit, Euro? Been refused immigration and residency in Australia in spite of being well qualified and having a European WORK ethic?

My folks toyed with the idea of emigrating and I wish to hell they went through with it, I started shoplifting at 9 so I'd have made a cracking convict!

Patsy cat,if your old man did go you may have grown up next to Terry, that would of given him the horn very early on.

I came as a nest egg settler, meaning the old man had some money, don't know in hindsight if it really was a good idea for us, 5 kids at the time.

Family back in the UK, seem to have done better, but the next generation and their kids, have no idea how many off spring now, seem to have done well in OZ and NZ.
Add to that, I've started a family line in Thailand, slowly but surely the Isle of Man will take over the world.

You know there is a difference between migrants and refugees. The Oz quota for immigrants from the ME is quite low compared to Europe

They're more noticeable because of their clothes, looks, religion etc... The problem doesn't lie with them, in 'their' community it's the Lebanese - and they've been in OZ a very long time

It's just hype, don't sweat it

Yes, but using logic with this sort of OP just doesn't work.

    Streuth!!

I am watching a rather interesting documentary about Irish Police officers who emigrate to Oz. Called the Garda Down Under - have a look at it, it is quite good. Most of them go to Perth and surrounding areas. It looks quite nice.
