Why does it always happen to me?

I have to confess, I missed my flight home ... again. Me mates are very unsympathetic. In fact the last 6 months alone I've missed 3 flights and had other various sorts of trouble....

this time it means I miss a day or two of work, da boss (well both of them actually) are not happy!

How did it happen?

The only time I ever missed a flight was after a deliciously nasty evening in Patong after a week-long dive trip. I had scheduled a taxi to pick me up at 7 AM for a 9 AM flight back to Bangkok. I finally woke up around noon....

Did I mention that the start fo my trip here, I went to Don Muang airport to get to CM and was supposed to be at Suvanarhumi instead?

But i heard KW once had to buy 6 tickets to get him and his missus to Penang one time to play cricket??

May even be a thread or a post about it somewhere here.....

ticket was in an envelope in the depths of my bad, passport was in another envelope and itineary in another.... thought i had two envelopes and it was with p/p

got to airport and they checked me in, gave me a boarding pass etc etc

Then they said hang on a minute, where's your ticket??

then lots of too and fro...

i checked the obvious places and thought i must have thrown it out, you know how you always get envelopes for everything - when u check out of hotels and so on....

They offered to sell me a one way replacement ticket for 23,000 baht....

but my credit card has been missing so I couldnt even afford to buy it at teh airport without the physical card...

I once missed a flight to London from Beijing because I went out drinking at 2pm the day before which I figured would be quite safe.

My flight was at 9am next morning and I was still drinking at 2am next morning, by the time I got back to the hotel I was too drunk and tired to pack. I had been living in the hotel for 4 months so there was a lot of shite to sort out.

Needless to say I didn't make the flight, I actually only missed it by 7 minutes which is double fustrating because it's still on the tarmac and you've only missed the gate close.

I tried everything from bribes to crocodile tears to stamping my feet and throwing one of my bags at a wall.

Needless to say I didn't make the flight.

yeah yeah, i missed a flight once cos of being out too late drinking also.

one time lost passport

another time had the wrong passport

left tickets at home etc etc

another cos....

you get the idea.

da thing that really missed me off was that they had already checked me in and everything.....

Never personally missed a flight, but have been paged a few times while sitting in a bar waiting for the connecting flight, followed by a mad dash to the gate.
Daughter missed on once, we were sitting in a cafe next door to the gate in Sydney, they claim they broadcast her name, but neither of us heard it, lucky it was only a local flight.

I almost missed my flight to Thailand once, due to the stupid U.S immigration officers who went through every little detail of my carry on luggage. They confiscated my water, and face cream even though they were barely over 3 oz. Then I had to take my shoes off, which took me forever since I had to untie them. Grr! Flying isn't what it used to be.

I had to make a run for my flight.

i have never missed a flight but i have vomitted on my clothes on the way to the airport, changed in the toilets and threw my sicky clothes in my suitcase.

i had also fallen down the hotel stairs the night before whilst drunk, and was covered in bruises and dried blood.

i had signed off a ship in St. Croix the day before and had to fly back to Singapore via Miami and then London. God knows what my wife and kids thought when they met me at the airport.

And my suitcase got mislaid somewhere and only turned up 3 days later. You can only imagine what that smelt like.

I got rebooked already, they did have an option for staying in singpaore for the day, but i said aint that fatboy bastard live there?" and they said "Oh yeah, thats right he does, we'll book ya anohter flight!"

Missed a few flights, lots of close calls, getting better at turning up in time, though.
Once was held in Don Muang airport by immigration, because they didn't believe the pic in the passport was me.
