    Business for 'well heeled' farangs?

    Just a thought:
If one was very well heeled and wanted to start a business in Thailand.
What better than a wholesale warehouse for alcohol, stocking everything from imported wines/beer/ plus local stuff etc?
Granted lots of backhanders to sweeten/grease palms and get various licenses via the wife/GF nominee etc...Perhaps no rental girls, foreigner work permit; limited ongoing bribes perhaps, limited operating hours yada yada.
All that glitters perhaps but worthy of consideration rather than opening yet another girly bar, restaurant or selling commodities, fruit and veggies.
Me? Retired and way too old, happy, content and lazy…

    Too much off a headache...

Best keep one's business discreet and low-key - in the missus' name, of course.

Bob Hope and No hope, mate... The two big breweries own the distributors and have a firm hold of who profits from the Thai alcohol business...

I know the guy that imports a lot of the alcohol sold here that is outside of the breweries and wine importers domain. Does well, but it's the silent partners in the business who keep the dogs at bay and unless you know people of higher than their level you'd have little chance....
