Silver just might be making a come back as a standard bearing.

I reckon if everyone is telling you to invest in silver it might be too late.

Willy no one telling me to invest in silver, just the fact that your com telephone etc has silver in it, the demand for these products is increasing so surely the demand for silver should increase.

I have a good Idea Jackyboy, get yourself a real job instead of being a TEFLer.

That way you can provide properly for your kids future.

As it is now they will die paupers exactly the same as their Daddy.

Four years ago silver had a huge run based on the premise you suggested prior , Horatio.
Now silver is sitting at approx 35% of that USD 50 high.

So it's your gamble if you think it is a commodity vehicle with huge upside potential long-term as opposed to purchasing Russian roubles...which is an idea with supporters.

What is currently out of favour is favoured by contrarian investors...it still called a gamble.

What does your in-the-know , connected finance-industry nephew suggest for a righteous long-term investment prior to 'the market collapse by the third-quarter' ?

Ask yourself who is buying silver and why. Buy low sell high as a rule. Not that easy. How low can it go frome current prices. Lots of info on the net. Demand in China and the world for new solar projects and other uses means increase in demand. If you want info from those who pitch the stuff I'm sure LearCapitol will send you all kinds of info. That said they profit flom selling the "stuff". You make up your mind with the best information you can find. Info at Gold | Silver | Buy Gold | Gold IRA | Lear Capital. I'm not giving advise. Just information. One thing for sure is you will die. Just not anytime soon I hope.

    Good info guys.

If the stock markets go tits up as expected the usual run on metals will surely go running.

Pee like the idea of the Rouble, would of been worth the buy, though believe its been rising slowly over the last few months.?

    Well Jackyboy,

You could never be a Firefighter simply because you would never get through the recruitment stage, you are simply to fukin stupid.

On the other hand if you had managed to snag the sort after position of Firefighter you would not be living up in shitsville scrapping through life on 20 Satang a day.

You would actually be well cashed up and loving life.

Still sucks extra hard to be you huh Jacky.

Excuse my ignorance but how much silver does one have to buy to make it worthwhile and were does one store it?

Or does one buy a piece of paper saying one owns the silver but in actual fact it still is in the custody of another?

Or does one buy a piece of paper saying one has the option of buying silver at price A. etc, etc.

I would think that unless one has it under lock and key the larger the gamble becomes?

I have never heard anyone with money say "When i was younger my parents bought me some silver/gold" The statement is more likely to be "My parents loaned me the money (gift) to but my first 6 rental cars" Or "My parents helped my buy my first gas station"

I would say for children put 1200 a year into a good mutual fund for about 6 to 10 years and then just let it sit. They have time on their side, by the time they get to 50-ish they will have enough.

    EDIT:

in 1915 Silver was $12 now it is $20 it did peak at $100 in 1980 but....

Gold was $457 in 1915 and is now $1200 having peaked at about $1800.

But then one has to work out (forgotten all the buzzwords) present day value of 1915 gold/silver to get a true picture.

Anyone with half a brain who seriously wants to help their kids will start putting away some cash every week from the time they are born.

I mean religiously, not just every now and then. Does not need to be much as compounding takes over as they age and by the time they reach 17 or so they will have a nice wedge.

The most Important thing is to educate your kids when they are young as to how money actually works and do not offer them a free ride.

Give them pocket money each week but make them save one third of it, this way you teach them how to actually save money.

Buying Silver as to secure your kids future. ?????

    Fukin numpty Jacky.

Seems Terry has got his pension now and has become a financial adviser.

Though can't afford to buy a new camera or camper van

Pretty amazing really considering he's never had two pennies to rub together and used to catch the 1 baht bus everywhere, or walk to save money.

    Jacky,

When you fire back at me and mention anything to do with money its simply fukin great entertainment.

It's comedy gold and akin to comparing Donald Trump to Micky Mouse.

You being Micky Mouse of course.

Sorry to disagree Terry but it needs a full brain to do that. Jack is stuck with what little he has got.
My kids are sitting on a decent pile already. Plenty of long term kids accounts available. Currently getting 6% and review it every year since they were born. Amazing how it all adds up. It's low risk and savings only so it's secure and not subject to the whims of speculation.
Silver ....... Roubles ..... pffft you struggle to keep yourself in Lhao Kao.
