a few years ago 40k plus bonuses, and could live ok and of to thailand 3 or 4 times a year.

now 40k a year all bonuses gone and cost of living up

we can get by but holidays have taken a massive dive.

the reason for the wage cut is cheap foreign labour that is filtering through all business

england is not cheap by any means.

Rental I would guess would be nearer 500 quid per month - also dont forget the deposit.

Another basic need would be a semi decent TV/Phone/Internet package at about £50 a month.
If you smoke its at least £5 a packet which if you smoke one packet a day equates to £1835

Gas and Electric - even a low estimate would come in at about £700 per year
