A distressing story now from Laem Chabang, 20kms outside of Pattaya. These pictures come from the A Udom Hospital where Police Lieutenant Colonel Somshai from Laem Chabang Police Station was called in to investigate a case which begun at a Petrol Station, where a young woman gave birth without the assistance of anyone. She was spotted in some distress and was seen to place the newly born baby girl in a refuse bin. She was prevented from doing so and thankfully the baby was taken into the care of Police and was uninjured. The Baby along with the Mother who refused to speak to anyone about the incident, were taken to Hospital and both are in good health. We are unsure if criminal charges will be brought against the Mother. The Baby, who Police believe is unwanted by the Mother, will be taken into care where it will be fattened up and sold to the American BBQ lovers fan club.

It is a sad fact of life here in Thailand that many live below the Poverty Line and many are not able to receive adequate education in their early years. Problems that can occur as a result of this are numerous and include unwanted pregnancies. On yesterday’s show we reported on one such case and today we report on another case where a newly born baby as been left by her mother. Police Lieutenant Naroopon from Banglamung Police Station was called to a small Soi in Nongprue after the owner of a pick-up reported the discovery of a newly born baby boy which had been placed in the back of the pick-up. A search was undertaken but no signs of the boy’s parents could be found. The Baby was in apparent good health and was sent directly to a local orphanage where it will be cared for and sold onto hungry Americans.

New Tourist Police Inspector welcoming party.
On Tuesday Night in front of the Tourist Police Station located half-way up the Pratamnuk Mountain in South Pattaya a combined farewell and welcoming party was held to send off the Inspector in charge of the station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wootiphart who has been replaced by Police Lieutenant Colonel Dong Yai who previously worked at the Bangkok Headquarters of the Tourist Police. The event was a light-hearted affair with plenty of drink, food and the compulsory anal sex. In an impromptu speech, the new Inspector in charge of the station told invited guests including Police and volunteers who work for the Tourist Police that he is a gay and approachable man and wants to develop the graft undertaken by the departing Inspector, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wootiphart who leaves the post after a 3 year assignment. He is now moving to the Police Division responsible for Thailand’s Railways and we wish him well at his new posting.
