    smart farangs

Why would farangs want to talk to another farang?

just because they happen to be in the same country, why would they want to behave any differently to at home?

I am often stopped in the street by farangs just wanting to talk. In a bar OK it is reasonable, talking to the chap on the next barstool is normal, but it is annoying to be stopped in the street by some overweight German who wants to know "where is the good bars please?". Or an Englishman asking "are you English?", or some Frenchman wishing to know where he can find bukake

smart farangs ignore people they do not know, unless they are distressed
    I have reported your post

Have me met? I am often "distressed" and approach fellow long-noses for assistance.

Maybe we want to talk to some people who have depth and personality occasionally?

Piss poor attitude you have. Do you know EVERONE in the world that can give something to you or is it that the only people that you want to talk to are going to give something to you?

having played in footy teams then snooker and pool leagues from an early age. it makes you interact and meet a lot of diverse people.

when in thailand or abroad i will engage in conversation with all most any one, you can soon tell if they are a knob head and if so just make a polite excuse and leave.

when in pattaya i have indeed met and drank with some good people, which does make for a better holiday and you can learn a lot about the place.

people should not be afraid or too shallow to engage with an another person, if it were that way what a boring existence IMHO

its making up a polite excuse that i have a problem with. especially if i am sitting next to them on a long haul flight.

This often happens to me on long haul flights.
I'm still working on how to tell them politely to fÜck off.
    Any ideas?

Yes, start by not responding to what he (usually he, isn't it?) says (don't give the obligatory nods and hums, interrupt him a few times) - and if he still doesn't shut up, make sure you have brought a walkman/mp3 player, just plug in your headphones when you get bored. If he keeps on talking, at least you'll have a decent soundtrack to his moving lips.

I like talking to the person next to me on the plane, or bar etc; I think that is different to someone collaring you in the street just because you have similar genetic makeup

I like talking to people too... in general. Don't tell me you've never been stuck with somebody who lacks the social skills to understand when he's said enough though?

Doc, I'm a friendly person (at least some people say that) but I hardly make friends with people (that's why I still don't have many friends in Ayuttha).

    To answer your question, No.
