You want to lose 50kg, how much do you fokin weigh??? As someone else said swap beer for wine if you drink as beer stays on your gut, made a big difference for me and I'm not a fat fuk. Personally though I don't believe in diets just stick to the old theory of eat less and move more.

This 5:2 split is not very rewarding, it's basically punishing yourself for losing weight.
My most successful effort was 30 kilos in 3 months.
One hour of sustained efforts a day, powerwalking, swimming and cycling in rotation.
Diet was muesli for brekkie, salads and steamed veg with tuna, skinless chicken and roo as meat options for lunch and dinner.
Drinking was a glass of whiskey in the evening only.
Weigh yourself daily and keep a record.
This was a six day a week job and on the 7th day I rewarded myself with a pizza and a sixpack.

That might well be the case out in the far east Tax but in our local pool just down the road

I swam at a council pool in north london, they had an early morning session, 6am to 7am, it was laps only, and swimming behind a lithe woman gave one frequent opportunities to observe, as ones head went underwater during the arms forward phase of the breaststroke, the wondrous sight of pubage, and occasionally more, escaping from the confines of her swimwear as she parted her thighs during the legs apart phase of the breaststroke, only to slip back as the stroke was completed.

With each stroke she took, I never knew what would be revealed next.

It was not unlike one of those repeating gif loops posted on the gif thread here.

Lap swimming can be quite boring, but not in my case.

If the woman was a faster swimmer than me, then I had to swim that bit faster in order to maintain my view, thereby increasing my fitness level, oxygen usage and calorie expenditure.

It was a carrot and stick, win win situation.

Did this once. rode a bicycle daily 25 miles over up and down roadways went from 210 lbs down to 178 lbs in less than 6 months. Couldn't loose anymore no matter what I did. A fellow told me I needed to up my calorie intake eating carbohydrates and up the amount of exercise...I tried it for a while but the weight wouldn't drop. I soon was reassigned and the weight loss picture went out and back to the grind of daily work and working lunches...back to 200 lbs. in a matter of months.

Good on the water intake. Pretty heavy amounts of liquids. Can't hurt unless you're a camel?

You should try living in the arse end of nowhere on the 7 / 11 diet . You'll find you start losing weight without even trying.

    Well,

If Nig is telling us he wants to lose 50 KG lets say he weighs in at 130 KG conservatively.

Its a lot of weight to lose but if he just cruises along and does the correct thing its obtainable. Maybe not what he wants but he could lose quite a bit never the less.

I support him as long as he has a serious crack at it, its the obese bastards that never try that repulse me.

The big thing against Nigel is that he is a truck driver, this is the most unhealthy profession in the known world.

    Anyway, good luck Nigel.

I aint saying cause I am the shy and retiring type

    BUT ,,,,, I can give you a pointer .

Today I went uptown to the outsize shop ( first name terms ) to buy myself a new pair of cargo shorts for my holiday , anyway whilst I was in there I felt a log beginning to tap on the exit door so I asked if I could borrow trap 3 ,, I walked in and had to reverse out again and back in as my turning circle was bigger than the closet.

Anyway after I had disembowelled myself I thought I would be able to slink myself into a nifty little 52" waist pair of cargo shorts ,, no chance although I believe these are made in China and they don't understand about feet + inches
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

I changed my eating habits about 1 yr ago.

For breakfast I just have fruit (usually half a melon).
Brunch, something small - sunflower seed bar or something.
Lunch, salad with chicken or grilled pork.
    Dinner, anything I want.

Lost about 5kg quickly (80 down to 75) and it stayed that way.

    Want to lose 50kg? Blimey.

Cut out most carbs and start eating fruit, and salads with your meat instead of spuds/pasta/rice.

Don't go for some shock fad diet, you'll lose some and put it all back on.

Excuse me for being lazy and not reading every post, Nige, but if you still need an ally/competitor in this venture, I'll do it. Need some motivation - could do with losing a couple of stone & I'm far too lazy under normal circumstances. Maybe this will kick me up the arse

I consider myself quite fortunate as I eat and drink what I like and always maintain normal weight for my stature.

Having said that I do a lot of physical stuff around the house keeping busy and sweating most days.

The old saying you are what you eat is very true but closer to the mark is you end up like a fat slob if you don't get off your arse and exercise.

Eating heaps of fish and tuna salad helps as well.

I normally eschew organised activity, but in this case I would urge Nigel to fuck off to weight watchers and sign up. He needs the education and I think he'd enjoy the company of like motivated folk who would benefit from the moral support offered by such organisations.

I of course would never allow myself to become obese in the first place but I do recognise for many their genes are against them. However, those folk who consume thousands of calories daily but loll about in bed, because they are too crippled by their self inflicted infirmity to work, should be shot.

Well the good news on that one ThegenT is that I have never been unemployed since I left school at 14 and a half , and I spend very little time in my bed ,, infact talking about beds I broke mine last night as I sat on the side of it !
