What's it like bsnub, for Americans who go on holiday?
Do they feel naked without a colt 45 tucked in the back?
Amid confrontation do they ever find themselves pointing a wallet at someone whilst shouting back off motherfucker?

I would guess they are used to being hated by everyone at home, so find it comforting to receive the same universal hatred when they are abroad.Originally Posted by Dillinger

Yes there are some who never leave the house without a sidearm. I am not one as I do not see the need myself but I support their right to do so.Originally Posted by Dillinger
In all my travels abroad, I have never had anyone display this hatred you speak of. I have experienced far more of this here on TD then anyplace in the real world. In my personal experience I have had many locals tell me how much they revile British tourists and say that they are glad I am not British.Originally Posted by pseudolus
Sure Harry they need to be lubed somehow.Originally Posted by harrybarracuda

Do you have a favourite? Better not tell the other guns, they might get jealous and that could be dicey..
Were you traveling in France? They are like that.Originally Posted by bsnub
Nope that is not my cup of tea but I do have a very nice Mauser K98 with ZF scope that was used in WW2.Originally Posted by quimbian corholla
No we should not since guns kill people. They can pull their own triggers.Originally Posted by quimbian corholla

^ looks like a nice place. Americans would go postal, shoot the place up and have it looking like downtown Detroit in 3 months; but it's their right, first amendment...

^Are guns the issue here bsnub or is it Americans? Hard to tell.
In response to one poster who was still discussing guns and not nationalities, most handgun owners don't have a conceal and carry license. I seriously doubt that any bad guys are slowed down by the possibility of an armed citizen being amongst those being held captive by some nut job. In Australia it would be almost "unthinkable." Right? Just trying to keep on track with the OP.?
I was reading some gun statistics randomly from various sources and one stated that 60% of gun related deaths in America were "suicides." Interesting that there seems to be just as many different views of statistical data as there people willing to write such an article. International studies seem to go all over the spectrum, quite like those who post here.
It does however appear that many think that by Yelling The Loudest, means you're opinion is more valid than those who actually state not just their own personal experiences, but support their reason in a very polite and professional manner.
It does appear that the MODs approve of those who are strident in vocalizing their opinions by YELLING AT OTHER POSTERS WITH INSULTS AND CHILDISH SELF AGGRANDIZING BULLPUCKY. I believe its called Grandstanding or playing to the crowd.
Even before the crackdown, a concealed carry permit in Oz is virtually impossible to obtain and if given, was usually job related and only valid while on duty.
^Yea, we know, back and forth to Walmart doesn't count. Whew! thaimeme, that's just more nonsense. Granted that all 320 million don't actually live on an island either. It'd be a bit claustrophobic like Hong Kong.
Amerka should stop thinking it is so 'unique', because it isn't. Neither is it indispensable, no place is.
Ozstralia should stop stultifying people with excessive rules n regulations- and therefore, maybe learn a bit from 'merka.
Right now, Australia is a more desirable place for most people to live- but that is a movable equation.
