I reckon i must eat approx fifty spoonfuls a day, my tea intake is approx ten cups a day alone.

considering i eat thai food everyday,way way too much:confused:
Eating a diet largely comprising natural foodstuffs such as fruit and vegetables without any preparation, avoiding soda and beer. Well maybe the occasional beer. No cookies, crisps or chocolate sweetie things. I rarely eat rice or white bread.
I look for alternative sweeteners such as lemon or honey.
Actual sugar, the white or brown stuff, seems excessively sweet to me now. It feels very similar to the change when you quit smoking.
Only what's in any processed food I eat (very little)
Surprising how fast you can lose the taste for sweet things.
Still overweight though, it's the beer !

gave up having sugar in my tea years ago..
I'm one of those whose probably out-of-sight in terms of sugar. Sugar is in everything processed so if you eat snacks, bread, etc you get it. I gotta get my act together. It's killin' me!

Be careful even "healthy" things are loaded with sugar..
Cornflakes - Loaded with Corn syrup
Fruit juices are a favourite for loading with shite like syrup, dextrose etc
Some bread has sugar added
"Ready brek" type porridges are absolutely loaded
I went into a health food shop a while back looking for yoghurt raisins i used to love as a kid..
They've ruined them! Loaded with fcking sugar! They taste to sweet and sickly
I avoid all processed foods, especially that low fat crap that is full of sugar. I eat very little fruit which is often high in sugars and pretty much avoid rice/bread/pasta completely. The only bad foods I consume is beer once or twice a week.
Living where I live, I can't. I hate added refined sugar, I believe it to be a cursed drug and at the root of many ailments. I add sugar to nothing, whatsoever- but every single drink available here has added sugar, and in this climate one needs to hydrate.Quote:

A month ago my doctor wanted to increase my diabetes meds or put me on insulin. For heart and diabetes I already take 21 plus medications daily. I have been dieting but with negative results. Blood sugaqr test was 256 before meals. Wt 167 lbs. I decided to follow my friends advice and go low carb to no carb with a large portion of my food raw. I cut all canned foods. Fresh on frozen now. No more diet soda, no more coffee and artifical sweetners and the like. 2 liters plus water a day. Veggies or fruit fresh/raw for breakfast. A chia shake for lunch and super always start with a large bowl of salad. We make our own dressing. I have lost 10 lbs and blood sugar is now between 75 and 85 before each meal and at bedtime. I will be 76 next month and feeling better than the last few years.
I forgot to mention the killer in the above post. We cut all noodles, pasta, rice, potatoes, bread also. I really loved all of the above.
I try to avoid it but there's always the beer.
I eat a lot of fresh fruit too.

After my little scare last August I am now staying at the low end of sugar in the blood, which means low sugar intake. I probably eat quite a lot of sugar. I usually eat processed cereals for breakfast (like Frosties) along with some toast and jam or marmalade, I have 2 teaspoons of sugar in both my morning coffees and 2 to 4 teaspoons in each cup when I drink decent coffee elsewhere.
White rice is a killer. I hardly touch it now.

I used to eat a lot of sugar. 18 months ago I completely stopped consuming soft drinks, cake/deserts, juice and all breakfast cereals.
While I am not sugar free I would say I have reduced my intake by at least 80%.
I have lost some weight and feel a whole lot better.
"Low fat" foods usually substitute sugar for fat in order to make the food palatable. Low fat milk is even loaded with added sugar, especially the flavoured milk like chocolate or strawberry.
Low fat doesn't necessarily mean low calorie and doesn't always contribute to weight loss, quite the opposite.

Chia seeds can be purchased many places - I'll check with the wife in a.m. to see where she buys them. Next year I hope to sell chia seeds if I can plant so as to harvest after the rains when it is dryer. They are a little on the expensive side.
