I'm staying at Sensatori Resort All Inclusive but i plan to get out and about a few of the days and eat with the locals


Is there anything worth buying there aside from fake watches that stop working after 2 weeks?

Sharm is two parts: a shithole arab area part of town where the ragheads are still slaughtering goats on the pavement and then there's tourist bit on the sea front where minimum wage imported workers from Cairo etc serve crap booze and even worse food to low rent package tourists who can lounge with hookah pipes and discover their inner sandwoggishness. All whilst the waiters suppress their mini sand-dick erections at the thought of shagging a pre menopausal bint who might be a better short term shag than a goat and procure them a visa out the islamo-cesspit into which they were born.

I stayed at the Four Seasons. It was full of ragheads from the gulf and Russians.

I travelled with a Thai chrome polisher of 18 summers. They get visas on arrival. It's one of the few holes on the planet where that unter-Reisspass they call a passport actually serves some purpose save scraping up dog poo in the moo bahn.

The diving was OK though.

- Nothing worth buying
- Not many chinks when I was there but who knows now? They spread like typhoid
- You probably wont get bombed. You might get sprayed by some jihadi monkey letting of a clip on an AK47, so desperate for a shag that the off chance of 72 virgins is more appealing than the living nightmare of the quotidien
- You might get propositioned for bum sex by a taxi driver if you are alone and under 50. I have no idea if this means you get a fare free ride as I declined the offer on my visit
- You will be charged a fortune for booze. Stock up on duty free

I did, against my strenuous objections but I was still married to the white mistake at that time, the Nile cruise many years ago. Cruise is really a misnomer, as they move the boat at night from one stinking mud flat to the next so you can all load on the buses to the next shit tourist festering stinkhole.

As I was posted in Saudi at the time I figured, "How bad can it be?"

It sucked.

First you gotta buy those soft shoes to walk to the sea, if you don't you cut your feet to shreds on the corals. It's a coast like no other in the world, you got a wide sandy beach, but to get to the water you have to cross several hundred metres of coral deposits where the water is only knee deep. Once you get to the edge, it drops off vertically 50 to 100 metres. This wall is a very beautiful place, thousands of species of fish and corals packed densely. Try to spend as much time diving and snorkeling as possible, that's the only sensible thing to do. Watch out for sharks. It's a weird country, all staff are males even the chamber maids. And ugly, sand, dust, no green. You see Saudia Arabia on the opposite side of the gulf, and know Israel is only 100 miles or so to the North, enough to give you goosebumps. They gonna try to cheat you wherever possible, don't forget the bloody beach towel or they charge you 50 Euro. Best chance to get laid is to find a female tourist in one of the clubs and diskos, I think, don't really know because I was there with wife and kid.

No/Yes. They usually machine gun folks in the desert. Just get an unlicensed taxi and ask to be driven outside the city limits to interesting local sights - they'll look after you; please leave a direct feed on, and have it connected to Teakdoor; invite Socal.

Nothing to see or do. But, you can stay in the hotel and try to shag other tourists; there are (were when I went) other bars and hotel bars around. If you are really really bored then just get a last minute liveaboard diving deal - you'll have a great time - good diving there. Do some TDI deep diving courses, that's manly!!!

Anyways: was working in Egypt managing local distributors (Arab and N.Africa region) at a big trade show in media (this was pre the ME Media cities being built, so lots of money up for grabs...). We had the most gorgeous blue eyed Egyptian on our stand dolling around the important folks, cousin of our Egyptian guy who basically ran the local regions because I didn't wanna deal with the Arabs - and he was bloody good as his job. Anyways, after a few days, I kinda fell in love/lust (t'was young...) and asked her if she wanted to go to the cinema to see a film? "Yes" she says... The next evening, I was staying at the Sheraton by the airport, and I get a call from reception that somebody is waiting for me in reception... I went down, there she was, looking wonderful, so she says we have a car waiting, we get in the back and I ask who the two in the front are? "That's my aunt, that's my ..." and we're on our way. I wiggle closer, she really was lovely, and a flash comes from a car behind, so she moves away from me. I asked what's going on: "Oh, that's a few relatives in the car behind.". We get to the cinema, buy the tickets, they paid, about ten of them (I am not kidding), and they all sat between us, I couldn't even see her in the cinema - different ends of a row! So, after that they take me back to my hotel, she walks me into reception, smiling and looking beautiful, we says goodbye and I'm up to me room.

Next morning, there's a knock on the door just before I head down to breakfast, 3 blokes in high ranking army uniforms, ask: "Are you Mr Bettyboo", then invite themselves in. Very friendly there were, smiling and patting me on the back, saying how pleased they were that I was interested in their cousin Aliah. "But" they end "you do understand that our culture is different, and if you try anything on with her, we will send you back to England in 100 different little parcels". I don't think they were joking... I didn't see her again... Intercultural relationships always have added difficulties... I was young and naive and rather weak, I should have just...
