    Is there no-one else?

Been here 9+years....dunno but personally +wife we are working on realizing capital from farm etc and repatriating to OZ in FNQ..Tablelands,beach or..could be 5-10 years but me, I have had enough of the BS..ain't getting any better! Sad to leave what we have built but....Of course if something radical changes for the better then would prefer to stay as I/we do love our life and our farm here and most of the local people are our friends and are the best...

I've been here for 18 years, and in Asia for almost 40 - this is home. I could never return to the country of my birth, nor would I ever want to do so. I left nothing there - I have nothing there. Nothing negative, but my birth country is pretty much of no interest or importance to me other than occasional trips to see my Mom.

Which kinds of BS are you referring to specifically, Crepitas ?

FNQ is a great place, but Oz generally is pretty expensive these days. The wife and I still live here though...there is infrastructure. For instance, it's great to have public libraries !

I did some diving out of Cape Tribulation once, that was nice. Bloody crocodiles though...

I've been bored of Thailand for years, nice to work away for a couple of years and spend a few weeks/months there from time to time.

I always find that when family visit me I get little homesick but when I visit the UK I realise that my home is not there now, and I miss Thailand. Guess I am in for the long haul.

Decided to cool off in the sea for 5 min's. Walking down the road i saw the sign - Beware of crocs

28 years here in Thailand and still feel like I am on holidays.

But I miss Oz and when I mention to anyone that I am craving to go back they tell me I am fvcking crazy.

Anyway tomorrow is another day and I hope things turn out well as I have an important meeting with my partner in Bangkok.

I don't miss home at all. But on going back to the UK, now and again, people say "you made the right decision by leaving". I don't think it matters where I ended up. It's just the fact I left.

I guess the secret is that if you were to move it can not be "going back" but more a plan to move forward to something better. If you are going back with your tail between your legs in a / to a worse situation, then that's not a great plan. If you are thinking of moving for the right reasons though, it is not going backwards at all.

Why not just go back for a holiday on a cheap return fare ? It's bloody hot in Thailand from April till August, and North Queensland has truly sublime weather during those months. Buy a little van and travel around a bit....sell it when you return to LOS. You could even part-finance the trip by bringing over womens clothing and selling it at N.Q. markets.

Mate it has been a real adventure which I feel has kept me young mentally as well as physically.

My meeting with my Thai partner also went well with him informing me that my new packaging design had won the Gold Medal for the "Thailand Product of the year" for industrial products.

It's my 2nd such award and I hope this new design is as successful as the first one.

If you believe you've had enough of the BS in Thailand you could be in for a very rude awakening in OZ, and as for living expenses.......

Dangerous there, don't do it... Would be a great place for night walks, and general strolls on the beach and in the forest, but...

There we have it; nice solution, if financially viable.

Only spending part of the time in Thailand is a good option.
How do I post these pictures???
