Fluke, your ignorance is showing again. I've employed Cambodians before, and can assure you they were here legally. Almost all of the Cambodians working on Koh Chang are here legally.Originally Posted by Fluke
You have a job getting into samut prakan immigration with all the Burmese and Cambodians being processed outside, it's always the same- scores of them, sometimes hundreds.
Don't know if this can be considered a true statement - generally speaking.
An overwhelmingly percentage of Thais that find themselves in residence overseas, for whatever circumstance, don't feel comfortable and become homesick.
I do wish many of you could see beyond your myths, old wives tales, [regarding most everything] and personal dogma.
There are Thai communities all over the UK, most of the ones I've spoken to are settled and quite happy in the UK and no desire to return to Thailand full time, the availability of Thai food and things like Skype mean no need for home sickness and at the end of the day it's only a 12 hour flight. Although I can imagine it would be different if in some East European shithole with no Thais around and they don't speak the local lingo.
Not from my experience. I have only ever met 1 who was homesick (constantly). Being as she was here for all the wrong reasons (farang money), her stay was an uphill struggle. Of the ones I know, the vast majority a very well adjusted into farang life and enjoy their stay (for how ever long that is).
Mrs Ast has absolutely no desire to live in Thailand full time anymore, now she has had experience of other countries and cultures. The only thing that keeps her going back is her family.
I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope

You really are one argumentative git, are`nt you?
Is it too much for you to say, Sorry, I thought we were discussing citizens only and then move on?
Look everybody, read the exchange above .
We are talking about getting citizenship .
We arent talking about temporary working Visas .
You really all need to read the whole thread and try to follow what is being said about what .
People on temporary working Visas are NOT immigrants .
Do look up what the word immigrant means ................
"a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country"
"A person who comes to a country from another country in order to permanently settle there."
I want no other rights in Thailand than to pay them for sex, laundry, cleaning and cooking, and that's what I get. Otherwise I avoid them as much as possible, and since that's difficult in a place filled with them, I ignore them. Looking away, and turning a deaf ear is the way to go.
Boon Mee: 'Israel is the 51st State. De facto - but none the less, essentially part & parcel of the USA.'
For a few years all I used to do was get the usual 30 day stamp on arrival then after 28 days go to immigration, show my papers with the Thai parent, and in the box for how many days I'd like to extend, I'd write 365, as I went to London each Xmas anyway. Same cost, no hassle.
Could have written 730 days if I wanted.
To answer the question in the OP;
Yes.
You are not second class citizens, because if you read your visa, it states that you are an " Alien ".
It does not matter because those who are here, do so because they want to. Those who do not, don't.
Like it or lump it. Burmese, Cambodian, westerners all here by choice. Get over it.
Took you long enough to figure it out, "retard"...But you probably have trouble back in Belgium finding solace for your strange proclivities...Originally Posted by Butterfly
