Thought about booking a place for a week on airbnb at the end of August...but then I remembered what an overpopulated hole it is.

About 7 years ago I stood on the beach side of the road there and looked back at what was...an overbuilt mess. A last resort.

I can understand why you like it Mandy...probably one of the few habitable places left where a deckchair attendant will gobble you for a couple of quid, but YD...why in god's name would you take your wife there?

I can't help thinking this is a symptom of where you're going wrong.

I actually find it to be one of the friendlier places in Thailand tbh; mostly seem to end up hanging with Russians, most of whom do not fit the stereotype that Thai Visa likes to peddle. Good and plentiful places to eat and a chilled out nightlife with the madness of Walking Street if I really want it. Hope to find some Chinese to practice my appalling Mandarin on haha.

I would agree that the condo development is a bit too much and many seem to be sitting empty- you'd be surprised at the amount of sub million baht properties for sale- maybe not such a fantastic investment

I really wouldn't.

I drove around the place a couple of times a few years ago looking to invest.

A visit that lead to a good few year's worth of vivid imaginings from frt.

Good point about it looking better in the dark...

Thing is though...this place had a private pool and I reckon it was about 5 minute's walk from the best fish and chips in town according to Headworx...a poster I trust.

I may not have listed its attractions in order of importance.

I remember the day when we'd fly air romania via bucharest, we had some kind of root vegetable for a seat and the air hostesses would throw vinegar in us faces to sterilise.

Don't forget that next Friday and Saturday are officially No Alcohol days.

Coconut juice in the evening. A month now on the wagon. Still fancying a beer in the evenings but appreciating the mornings and feeling much healthier. Sleeping better too.

Lao Khao at some deal in Soem Ngam....Long story but man is it good.
