How could the soviets have covered it up? it was a coup by elements of the CIA using mafia hit men. At least Thailand has it's coup's in the open.

But only the Soviets had the balls to ever do it. Lots of presidents are hated and wanted dead for a lot of different reasons. But the Soviets delivered.
Could've been the Soviets, CIA, mafia and or others, but we'll never know for certain.

No it wasn't a CIA hit. If the CIA or mafia was susceptible of this, then more presidents or politicians would have been killed over the years. It never happens. The CIA coudn't kill Castro

The US was crawling with spy KGB agents at the time. The CIA was infiltrated with KGB spies ffs.

Why else did Khrushchev agree to take the short end of the deal then ? Why would he do that ? Because he didn't care. He would settle the score another way.

Im siding with Niall on this one

What? Did they tell you in school that the Cuban crisis ended with a success for the US? Well, let's see. Before it, there were American missiles in Turkey, the real threat Castro could be ousted by America, and no missiles in Cuba. After it, the missiles in Turkey removed, America's dirty fingers not seen again in Cuba since, and no missiles in Cuba. What did I miss?

Well if it isn't the biggest propaganda sponge revisionist moron on TD.....

You missed the part where a little thing called Defcon 1 was on and the world was minutes away from thermal nuclear war and destruction.

The ending of the Cuban missile crisis and the hastening of WW3 was dressed up around the world as a flawless diplomatic effort by JFK. When in reality, it was Khrushchev that made the offer and brokered the deal. But JFK , while Decon 1 was on, insisted on taking the credit for the deal. Cost him a bullet in the head.

Obviously you didn't click on the link where it shows real footage of JKF on his diplomatic victory lap. Here it is , again.

I fast forwarded it for you, so it links up at just the right part

His assassination had nothing at all to do with the missile crisis, it might have done had he backed down.

An interesting historian, do you have any links to his views on the JFK assassination. The soviet theory seems the most unlikely one of all.

Why would the CIA want to kill JFK?
Bobby Kennedy was running the covert section of the CIA at the time, they were being given more money, more freedom and more jobs under the Kennedys than at any time before or since.
Add to that they were basically a collection of alcoholic psychotic assclowns who could not manage even the smallest tasks without exposure and it seems an unlikely scenario.

Perhaps the powers that be believed his plans to pull out of Vietnam and didn't want their little revenue stream interrupted?

That's my take on the whole thing.

btw, fodder for those conspiracy nuts - Robert Kennedy was next in line but was bumped off by a Pali terrorist. Take that and run with it...

IF you wanted something done quietly, competently and successfully, the last people on earth you would have given the job to were the CIA.
Entirely run and populated by delusional fuckups.

Anyways, saw a news story a few days ago that some film director has found new camera footage of the shooting and is shopping it around the networks, allegedly shows a second shooter. Wouldn't withholding that be a crime?

Allen Dulles (sp?) head of the CIA had been sacked by JFK over the bay of pigs fiasco, also Kennedy wanted to reconstruct the organisation so many in the CIA were not exactly supporters. It's true they had operation mongoose running in order to kill Castro which used the same men and methods to kill JFK, or so the theory goes.
If it were the mafia, the soviets or a lone gunman why did so many witnesses and whistle-blowers meet untimely deaths. Also, how could those elements have conspired in such an obvious cover up re the autopsy photos and whisking the car away to Detroit etc etc. How could they have fixed the warren report in the follow up? How could they still be keeping vital documents locked away, if it was a lone gunman release all the documents, oh yeah 'national security' or you might find out how they have lied for 50 years.

Yeah weird to keep that under wraps for 50 years, trying to sell it to the highest bidder , I expect it's something very ambiguous like a ufo pic or the loch ness monster. Badge man photo on the grassy knoll has been around for years and quite convincing when put alongside witness reports of shots from there. There were more witness reports of shots from the knoll than from the book depository, all ignored by the warren commission.

    not too long, interesting article

My take is that they are taking the piss out of 50 years of conspiracy theories, not the assignation itself.

JFK murdered by conspiracy is not a theory, house committee on assassinations agreed as much in 1979.
