This is not a forum for the easily offended, and if you can't see that my thread is actually showing a new found fondness for the, ahem.. tiny people, then you're blinded by already seeded animosity.

I'll be very surprised if you're an Aussie.

It was a term of affection applied to babies in general, not the one in question, although if I did have a baby of my own that was crying all night and keeping me awake I would take care of it and love it just the same and probably say something like, "The little shit kept us awake all night" it doesn't mean I hate babies for Pete's sake man.

If anyone else was offended (apparently not) then I'll ask DD to change it to Rugrats.

My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

i only really liked my own. And even then I found the constant crying of my son for 4 hours at a time for no discernable reason in the afternoon while my wife was at work to be a particularly harrowing period of my life - I was 23 at the time.

I was working on the oil tankers at that time and would spend 4 months away followed by 3 months at home. In fact for both of my kids cases I was there for the birth then after a month returned to work. My wife already had one child of her own and basically knew which end of a baby was which so that was a great help. Mind you I still think I was better at changing a disposable nappy than her. But she was definitely better at getting up in the night to see to them while I pretended to be asleep.

So due to my work I missed both my childrens first steps, first words etc but at least when I was at home I could spend all day with them.

    nothing much to report.

    friday night - laundry
saturday morning - walk around part of my area taking pics before taking the bus home. Helped my son with his maths revision then after that became too boring played some PS2 with him. Buggered off at 7pm to my mates place to watch some football. Ended up leaving there at 5am.
Woke up at 9.30 hung over and shattered, threw on some clothes and got a taxi back home as I promised the kids I would take them to watch Spiderman 3. Did that and had a bite to eat, then I brought them back home and then I went back to my flat to sleep. Woke up at 5pm, called my dial-a-massage lady (a 30-something from CM and she is really good at massage - I never really liked massage until I tried hers) and she was free so had a couple of hours massage. Then back to my room again. Weekend over.

Hardly spoke to the wife except for a few pleasantries. But I suppose its lucky they werent nastyantries.

no. anyway she is more of a woman than a girl

she was married to a Singaporean guy and insists she is 30 but then talks about her 15 year old son. Something is not right somewhere. My guess is she is closer to 40 than 30.... anyway her hands are magic

I had only one child -- knew my limit quite quickly! He was an easy baby, thank god, otherwise might have had to "sell him for medical experiments." Still, I had my turn with the diapers, projectile vomiting, teething. Good thing I didn't know my now-husband at that time -- he wanted more children than I could have handled (but he's been a great dad to his 3).

We are grandparents now to a 6-year-old. I like being a grandparent -- we can give them back when finished indulging and having fun, then the parent has the pleasure of whipping them back into some form of disciplined behavior over the next few days.

As to the fussiness, at 4 months the baby is almost certainly cutting the first teeth (happens at 3 to 6 months) -- she needs something to chew on, like a soft rubbery toy.

In my experience that's no different from having a baby.

So they're just like dogs really?

How often do they need taking for walks?

If she's teething just let her gum your fingers (wash them first).
If she has a dirty nappy then give her back.
Simple really, babies, for a male.

She eats her own fist when teething and her feces are grey/green - not sure what causes that colour from powdered milk.
