    Back in the UK !!!!!

Well I'm back in the UK, apart from not having a job, money, my misses with me and totaly crap dial up internet it's not that bad

First impressions it actually seems more affulent than it did 6 years ago, I don't think many things are actually that much more expensive, food is probaly cheaper, probaly due to all those 3rd world farmers struggeling to make a living so we can all eat on the cheap

Everyone seems old though and I've got to get used to seeing people walking around in shorts and t-shirts when its about 15C....
I have more than the average number of arm and legs

Best of luck Random. First call should be the pub for a pint of real beer, none of that cold lager shite.

I'm more interested in this than in Scampy's bullshit. However I will allow that there's a philosophical point here as to when a situation becomes thread worthy. Perhaps you should start a thread about that.

Give the poor bastard a break, we're the only friends he's got, and we don't like him all that much.

could be, but I have good reasons to be

just like RC, I am back in the UK (London) without my wifey, and having to put up with the rudest people in the world.

How did it happen?? The British were respected and loved the world over, they were polite intelligent and caring. Now, they are seen as rude, drunken yobs.

Don't agree? ask any bar girl, the Brits are the worst customers.

someone tells me that it is all to do with the workers now having enough money to travel and get drunk all over the world. Previously only the polite middle classes could roam around, so foreigners got the impression that the Brits were "quite nice actually".

    any thoughts on this hijacking?

Thanks DrAndy you've settled it for me - i am going to Pattaya next month.

firstly for the bangers and mash with peas and gravy

and secondly to ask a bar girl if Brits are the worst customers

and if i have time i might die in my hotel room only to be discovered one week later

I'm back in the UK at the moment and have to agree with RC. It's no so bad here, especailly when the suns shining as it has been for the last few weeks.

Making money here is so easy, it seems you have to but a gut in thailand to make a little cash but here the streets seem paved with gold in comparison

I reckon summer in Uk and winter in Thailand is the way forward for me.

    Good luck RC

Cheap airfares, mass tourism, drunken yobs. You might have a point, London has been one of the unfriendliest cities in the world for a long time. English football supporters regularly travel to foreign places and smash them up. Crowd psychology plays a part. Those middle class tourists you hark back to used to travel alone or in very small groups, when travel was an expensive luxury. Now we have large groups of yobs who may in fact also be middle class.

bloody hell, everyone is over here, overpaid and ...

yes, the sun has been seen but it is a little cool and often grey. Never mind, it is better than being overheated and attacked by mossies

as for money, well, I havent worked in London, or the UK, for many years and would not want to

the snowbird (or whatever) method is the best although my wifey seems to think I should settle down in Thailand sometime
