Thread: TD ....please explain

okay , I am one of many methinks that have crossed the floor to escape from the mostly gay,overly PC, power tripping, failed lollipop men ....AKA moderators and admin.
So the question is why all the TD restrictions on newbies?
I am sure there is a valid reason ?
AND can someone in admin please modify a bit of code so we can post pics without having to have a doctorate in IT! Jesus , how hard is it..have not come across any other social media with such pain in arse processes.
Think perhaps many would like to have an answer?..

Post count before you can post pics and links?
That would be a detergent to spammers and spambots and banned flamers.

The gallery on TD is a bit obtuse*, but you don't need to use it to post pics.
Copy link from host and paste in post. Not overly complex.
The TD gallery comes with vbulliten software that runs the site, not easy to change.

No I listen and can do BUT I simply refuse to jump through fcuking hoops to post a simple inocuous fcuking picture.
Which part of this are YOU having trouble understanding.
Every other forum I am a member of seems to manage this without any hassle

But it isn't as fcuking easy as just selecting which file on your computer you want to attach and pressing OK. Every other forum seems to manage to be able to give their customers / posters this very easy option

It's also sorage expensive and not very good for the environment.

Once you've created a system (especially as old as this) you have to work with what you have or start from scratch. What do you reckon's more likely, TD starts from scratch or you learn how to post pictures?

Don't get me wrong - I don't post pictures precisely for this reason. It's not that I can't do it - it's that I can't be bothered to do it - the joke is lost by the time it's done.

It would be great to be able to drag and drop pictures into the threads, but it's unlikely to happen.

It really doesn't take that much time to snap that pic, resize it and post it into your Gallery IMO.

If that doesn't work simply valve up the crank jutter and re-splice the URL's via a satellite dish (NTSC obviously)

Once one has posted thousands of photos such as myself it is a piece of piss.

Its definitely not easy or so many posters would not be having problems using the Gallery.

Its a head fuk when confronted with it simply because there's so many steps one needs to go thru.

Resize this, click on that, post here ????? Fuk me EH.

A mine field for posters who are not fully clued up using a computer.

What you and the rest of the posters simply calling people stupid for not being able to post pictures is that a large number of posters are having trouble posting pictures and instead of making it easier you are simply telling them to follow instructions they haven't been able to follow in the first, second and third instance.
How is that to the benefit of the forum. surely more pictures and making it easier to post them would surely increases traffic.
If I could post pictures as easy as I can on EVERY other forum my post rate would rise and maybe the people reading my posts would rise ?

Try "postimage.org," taken from post by Davey Gravey's Post your Mug shot thread. Satonic gives a great tutorial for posting pictures on T.D if you're really that interested in posting your art work Bigfella.

Personally its far to intrusive imho.

I must admit, it IS a bit of a pain to post pics stored on my own computer on to TD. I have to upload them to the gallery first. . But if I find a website from which I want to post a quick pic, THAT is different......I just copy and paste it from their page. Takes only a few seconds. Works most times (but not all....depends on the site.)
For instance, this binturong took about 15 seconds to copy/paste using the edit button on my Firefox browser.

As said I fully understand the procedures I need to go through to post a simple picture just as I fully understand the procedures I need to go through to take my wife for a two week holiday to the UK.

In both cases the trouble you are asked to go through isn't worth the hassle.
