I had to take me daughter to the eye clinic at Monkut Wattana Hospital today. Over the last 3 months she has had a really red left eye 3 times. The latest right now. She has just used EyeMo and in a day or two it cleared up but kept coming back. Now she has been studying for and taking IGCSE exams the last couple of months, so we thought simple eye strain.
Got a great doctor, and he listened to my tale of eye strain, and simply said, "dont you think it would be two eyes then, dont you use both when you read?" Then I felt a bit silly.
So he puts her on the eye check machine and after a moment out comes an umm....... turns out she has long eyelashes and some grow the wrong way and back into her eye. Almost too small to see if you dont know what you are looking for. Cleaned it up, told her to great delight she should wear mascara as it keeps the eyelashes up. But the best part was calling me over to have a look. Those machines are cool, he took his time, was polite and funny and the whole thing only cost me 500 baht with medicine.
How Have Thai People Impressed You Today?
They haven't, not today and not for a while.
My Thai GF impressed me last night, night before, night before,--you get the idea.

Not being a car owner when I lived in BKK when I do need a car I simply rent one which is what I did when I moved East from Bangkok earlier in the year. In running around the roads, and out in the sticks, I climbed to the top of a hill following a house for sale sign, and and car shuddered to a stop. The fuel was full, but the whole car was dead. So I called the hire car firm, but then realised that actually I did not have a clue where I was so I walked to the nearest house and a thai guy took the phone and started speaking with them. Next minute, this stranger got me a bottle of water from his house, and a fee bep noons later one of his mates arrived with a pick up. He poked around in the car a bit, attached some jump leads, and the car sparked to life. Stranger bloke jumped in the car with me, and directed me about 3 miles to a place to get a new battery which seemed to be the problem, negotiated the price down, handed me the receipt for the car hire firm, and directed us back to his house where upon he got out, closed the door and never looked back.
That chap helped heaps and never wanted a thing in return. Nevertheless when I moved down here I went to great lengths to find his house and propped a bottle of JW black inside his gate as a thank you. Knowing my luck he will be a recovering alcoholic and I just ruined his life.

You know the old saying - "no good deed goes unpunished"......
A toll both attendant impressed me with his fussing over a child sat in the lap of his mother while she was driving her Fortuna on the Rama 9 highway. That is impressive!
now I just set the cruise control on 80kph and sit in the left lane - costs me an extra 5 mins max
last time they stopped me - though many times now they dont - I just said no , I have cruise control set for 80kph , and after a couple of seconds wait they just waved me on - fcuk paying them 500 baht

What the fuck is this? What I did in my summer holidays by Socal, aged 7 3/4?WOP food is my favorite. We went to the grocery store and picked up all the ingredients and she made some real WOP.
When I went to NY I spent most of time eating in little Italy.
I left my IPhone on the seat at the Ford dealership and a guy came and gave it back to me. Cheers!
Meanwhile, Ford took 3 hours to change the oil and filter in my Fiesta after booking it in and arriving promptly. It's why I forgot my phone, I was nearly asleep. I passed the time watching service staff ambling about and generally dodging work. Crap service. Not impressed!
