I thought so then I talked to the owner and the title is clean as far as the state. It has a ladder chassis so it should be ok to check it on a rack. Maybe new tires are a warning.

costs a shitload to run as well I had a V8disco for a while used to slurp down 20ltrs of petrol every 100km soon got shot of the fucker in favour of a 1989 2.5td pajero much more sensible fuel consumption !

I had a V8 Discovery a few years back.

You feel like king of the road when you first get in it but they are slow as fuck. You can't overtake anything.

A salvage title (which the ad states it has- it will be stamped in large letters on the paperwork) reduces your possible insurance coverage and makes it hard to resell- I would have a good body man go over it to see if it was repaired properly or done cheaply (cars that are as expensive as a Range Rover aren't written off for simple 'front fender damage').

as you said, the new tyres are suspicious, maybe they wear out in 3 months due to the car being skewed

Thanks you lot! I will be meeting up with this chap in a few hours. My radar will be on high alert. The damn truck has high apeal here in the states. It is British racing green and has a 5 SPEED and that is almost unheard of here. Most cars and trucks get imported into the US with autoboxs shit. Americans are fat lazy wankers.

Disco's really are shit. Absolute death traps on road as they handle like a tray full of ball bearings and are about as solid as a cornflake packet. Off road.. be prepared for a walk home. Ideal for driving home pissed from the bar though Snub.. fill yer boots.

I took a pass on it. When I drove it there was just a odd feel when underway. I will keep looking. I am fond of these discoveries but I doubt I will come across another five speed.

had one of them in Oz..used top of the range etc:
some of the problems:
Drivers moon roof stuck half open most of time
Radio buttons kept falling off
new anti lock breaking on front wheel.....$650 used/recon
Netting over rear passenger fell off
rear door retainer fell off
oil leaks oil leaks

apart from that it was fun to drive in the 13 months ownership before almost giving it away!

Wife had Holden Jackaroo ( Isuzu Trooper).....no worries ever and better on soft sand as lighter by far..

"Up to you" mate but if your in Thailand maybe better have something that they know how to fix with cheap as chips aftermarket parts?

A fairly popular rig in the states. Not anywhere close to a Jeep in popularity but it has a cult following here. The Defender 90 is a holy grail here in the US. We just don't get the good diesel, manual transmission, ladder rail construction X4's here in the states. It sucks.

(all just over 25 years old) - RORO shipping to the west coast, 3k usd or there about. So 6-7k for the Landy, 3k to get it to seattle, import tax? Even if it is 100% (who knows) that still leave $10k meat on the bone for each 90 you import.

HAAHAA! I told you! This is yuppie land. Good utes are hard to find here in the states. Jeeps are plentiful but I like Rovers myself.
