I am sick: please help me...

I have only been out of Thailand since October.

But, I am already fighting with people that insult the mighty nation that has never been conquered; I don't know what to do, it feels so wrong...

Only a few short months ago, I hated the place, the people, and their ignorance. Now, if anybody speaks a bad word against our glorious nation, I want to hurt them. What's wrong with me? (too much acid as a youngster?)

    Please advise.

    Just dointhedo...

How do I post these pictures???

I read a thing recently that people that did alot of acid in their youth suffered terrible flashbacks when they got older.

The impact of Thailand on the international stage is best illustrated by a 'puter game I play- Civilisation 5. Here, according to one of the large electronic game franchises, is a likeness of King Ramkhamhaeng-

Gogo's, beaches and temples, are what Thailand is known for. Don't see much point educating a foreigner about the colonial history of Siam, etc. Or myself, really.

Typical Thailand expert syndrome although you have a minor case.

The experts claim they hate everything about the place yet they know a lot of facts about the place and they choose to stay there if possible

Socal, my friend and inspiration, I agree.

I miss you. Even though we have never met. I feel a bond. Can we meet in Pattaya in July? Can we spitroast Emma? We can meet in the middle. If not, we can continue without Emma, as if she was there, and meet in the middle. I want this to happen. I have a longing.

I am sick. Please help me.

^^ or should it be ^^^ (I'm not very good at this...)

    That is very good advice.

But, I seem to have woken up (it's the chickens) - I might be on here for hours... It's 5:43. I have finished all my beer (beer license) and there is no shop within 150 kms to get any more.

I am not a Thaiopaed. However, going away makes you love the place more... I am back in July for 6 weeks; I am gonna visit people and places...

Best not to count the days, just work and more work is the solution to the absence of life. Welcome to life in the Middle East.

Don't associate with your workmates. Stay to yourself. Divulge as little as you can and never moan about the place. There are ears everywhere.

Being friendly doesn't get you anything but grief in the circumstances your living under. Privacy is important as well living in your head.

    Not true Patsy.

Alcohol fueled nights will bring terrible flashbacks though.

Betty, it sounds like you are suffering from withdrawal symptoms. You need to find a local somtam supplier or pappaya importer. Perhaps you could find some on ebay and invite your Omani friends round for a meal to talk about all things Thai.

Thailand is mainly good because it's cheap. You can do all the same things in the west but it costs a lot more.
