The worthless crap you own thread

Well over the last few weeks i have been cleaning up differant areas of my place, yeah it's a big place full of basically what can be nicely described as junk, so I been spending like 30 minutes perday cleaning up a differant area each day, and everyday I come across a new antique and wonder why the hell this worthless piece of junk is being kept by me for.

So to start it off I shall submit this luxurious 14 inch crt monitor which is in perfect working order and has the value of a dogs poo, and which now is being loveingly being cared for under a dressing table.

I actually have a walk in junk cupboard on the third floor but haven't dared enter there this year, that should make for some horrific pictures, anyway my first offering for this thread.

See if your children can recognise what this is yes it is a vhs player, it may also be a recorder aswell, this one is the super duper model that you can karaoke on, it has probably played 20 films in the last 10 years and is in perfect condition, in years to come this will probably be a collectors item, at this time it is worth about 5baht per kilo and for some obscure reason is still sitting under the tv next to the dvd player.

Thailands love affair with mobile phones has always amazed me, when i first moved here and enquired about getting a land line I was a bit disappointed to hear that I would have to go on a waiting list and it would probably be a couple of years before I got my land line, I mean isn't a phone a necissity of life, well I suppose it isn't when you spell it like that, so anyway Pattaya had a mobile phone shop, yep just the one, their lovely range of mobile phones were priced between 41,000baht and 70 odd thousand baht, I pointed to the 41,000baht phone and told the lovely young lady I would like to purchase it, she then asked for my work permit, I then explained to the lovely young lady that I would only be spending about 3 years in Thailand and had no intention of working, she told me I couldn't have the phone and i told her she was a 3rd world moron, we weren't getting off to a good start, I mean I needed a phone, everybody in the foking normal world has a phone and I weren't gonna wait 2 years, so ok I am reasonably bright, so I sent a thai guy in there to buy me my foking phone, anyway this picture features in the middle my second Thailand owned phone, this one was a bargain at 32,000baht, of course in those days they only worked in major towns, the one to the left was one of my girlfriends, and the one on the right is the one I occasionally answer nowadays.

Well, if you'd started this thread before I moved to Thailand, I could've filled it with all sorts of crap. But I gave all of it away to my relatives - 5 or 6 TVs, stereos, VCRs (including 2, yes 2, Betamax players), gas cooker, fridge, freezer, 3 piece suite, bed, table and chairs, drinks cabinet, PC, lawn mower, etc, etc.

Nothing that I have now would I consider "crap". But then, that was why my house in the UK was full. Of crap.

(You should've seen my office when I left work . Talk about 'crap'! )

I kept the 1980's Goodman's Magnum speakers. They were excellent, even the cats and budgies liked 'em:
