This afternoon whilst walking up the Sukumvit road I was amused,shocked but then quite sad to see a sight I thought could not exist.
I had popped out to get a much needed hair cut with the wife and kids in toe.

Under one of the footbridges was laying one of the most dirty scruffy cnuts I have ever laid eyes on.

To top it all his trousers (Rags) were right down exposing his filthy buttocks with a rotten wound on one.

I admit I did smile but was thinking you poor down on your luck cnut.

As I stood there rubber necking waiting for the gang to catch up he stirrded,turning over It became obvious this cnut was a Falang!

With the wife now stepping on my heels I remarked,Fuck me a Falang Tramp! nether seen one of them here.

What,s that all about!

Do the Thais not kick you straight out when your skint? let alone laying over the payment in their great city Bangkok.

Sounds like the German guy he was sleeping up soi 7/1 when a bar closed down quite a while back,if its the same guy can be sleeping on a bench along sukhumvit road between soi 18/22 been seeping there for a few years.

Nothing new. Falangs go belly up here from time to time. First one I saw was 25 years ago, an old American begging , complete with cup , on the steps of a footbridge on Rama 4 road.

Embarrasing for both of us since I knew him . Only a fortnight before a friend and I had lent him 1500 baht for some dental work , the only thing between him and a job as a Tefler ( so he reckoned ).

He got his teeth fixed o.k and I even offered him a job ( being in a position to do so at the time ). He declined because he wouldn't consider working for 150 baht an hour ( good money 25 years back )

Some people are born losers wherever they end up. No surprise then that whereas before the locals tended to respect foreigners ( whether they deserved it or not ) they now often look down their noses at them ( whether they deserve it or not).

Progress they call it.

I remember about 12 years ago in KSR seeing an old hippie.
I'm talking woodstock acid alternative lifestyle genuine actual hippie, the full works, sandals, long hair, beads.
Never grew out of it, maybe came to thailand as a stoned young hippie, lost his passport and never left or something.
I still wonder what that guys story was.

Saw one at the border in Shenzhen Cine, laving for Hong Kong once, barefoot. Completely fucking stupid these idiots, all sorts of diseases in cina and hoicking loogies is the national sport.
It was 5 years before I could even bring myself to wear sandals in China, let alone go barefoot.

Say what you want but i'd rather be a homeless bum in a tropical climate than freezing europe any day

I wouldn't be bumming around the cities tho, i'd go into the wilds like Rambo did in his first movie and hunt deer and cows for food. And make myself a makeshift shelter out of sticks and leaves etc.


Then i'd make my way to one of the uninhabited Islands and start living off fish and coconuts
