Would you really be surprised if it were in fact real?
With the corruption and western influence I wouldn't immediately call it a "piss take" without looking into it.
^ I wouldn't expect it to be advertised on youtube. :)
Sounds like the plot to a bad 'B' movie. :)
Assumption is the mother of all fuck.. As soon as I believe something to be one way in Thailand it completely changes. I'm with you it's most likely a stunt,, however if the show aired on television next month I wouldn't be shocked.
The sure thing about Thailand is that you just can't be sure.
^^ I'd watch it :bunny3:
I've heard about this before (didn't know much about it) but kind of think it is real and they are letting prisoners fight for their freedom.
Boxing inmates fight to win their freedom from Thai prisons - Telegraph
The civilised Roman Empire, the ones that educated the English. They had a system in the Colosuim in Rome where a Gladiator fought to the death or got their freedom. Not a new idea.
Ideal time to start a betting syndicate online. The tea money to the Prison wardens will insure the correct winner goes free, and the Bookies win.

Russians.
Maybe i'm killing your reality standarts here, but event is real. :)
It's a charity event and next one will be organized by invitation only. And no Russians in organization, we just tried to reach "russian market" (since amount of Russians is very high).
But our promoter is from London and all next events will be English/Thai only.
^Are you Russian?...

They committed a crime. They are being punished for that. That's enough, they don't need to join the circus.
As it is a 'charitable event' I assume you will be publishing the full accounts of the event, including 'admin fees' ?
Like fokk you will!!!....
No wonder the world is in the state it is ..........:(
Lets try to be reasonable and don't judge people too fast. as everyone noticed here, I don't do really good at English and can't explain enough to you (soon our promoter will do all the talking). So please be open minded...
I don't judge people at all. I just follow facts, the facts are:
- Most of people in Thai prison are there because of drugs (it's like 90%?). In some countries these people would be treated in rehabilitation center.
- Prison conditions are very bad and nothing to do as most people say. Also some people attack you.. and probably life there looks very dull and most people decide to take drugs... usually more heavy stuff. Probably some sports could help in this case? Just for this - we give out sports equipment to prison.
- It's not that easy to get out - you should win a lot :)
- I bet if they get out of prison with good sports standings, they will more likely to find their way in Thailand (there they have a lot of respect for these kind of people).
Can you please take in mind these facts and say "What's wrong?".
Load of bollocks.
Name your organisation please, its registered charity number here in Thailand and the name of your promoter.
If you do give out sports equipment to prisons then I admire your intentions.
However this looks more like a money making scheme at the expense of vulnerable people....
Put up or shut up.
