The word AMPHETAMINE caught my eye , and I think I've seen it on crime documentaries . So any one know about amphetamines .

We used to buy Spanish slimming pills and bring them back home in the 1970's.
I think there must be a big difference between Phentamine and Amphetamine because they had no effect on any of us.

Amphetamine or speed is great for wait loss but has bad side effects. You can't sleep and talk aload of bollocks bit like Kingwilly.

With regard to phentamine, I don't think there is such a word,
I may be wrong on this of course, I think they use parts of the
amphetamine word to draw attention to the product, but doubt it
will be beneficial to assisting in weight loss as amphetamine or
methamphetamine would. There is a drug known as phentermine which
is a form of amphetamine.

They all take the appetite away, make you talk like an idiot,
sweat, palpitate, and can lead to death.

Amphetamines were used by Hitlers Doctors
in wars to help keep soldiers alert, and boost
the courage, they felt invincible, same with the
Japanese.

Kamikaze on amphetamine and booze was no problem.


They were once the main ingredient in diet pills,
because they stop people feeling hungry.

Some amphetamines are used in medicine, for example,
Ritalin is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.


They were heavily marketed as an energy pill during the
late 1950's and 1960's when I think they were banned as
a dangerous pill.

Referred to then as Purple Hearts.

Shaped like a heart and purple in colour.

There was talk that amphetamines were given to American GI's
during WW11 when they went into battle hand to hand against
The Japs in The Pacific.

No idea if this is true or not.

People take it because it gives them the energy to
do things for hours without getting tired, things like
dancing, talking, and going out. Quite a favourite on the
rave dancing scene of the 90's especially.

It causes numerous psychotic problems, puts a strain on
the heart and as mentioned can lead to death.

Similar to most drugs, teeth fall out, health deteriorates
numerous cases of folk becoming dangerously paranoid.

Leave it alone.

Most definitely. Speed really is a devastating drug, adverse mental and physical effects manifest very quickly with regular amphetamine use.

It'll fuck you up quicker than opiates, cocaine, and alcohol.

Having said that, I'd say that those pills likely don't contain amphetamine, they probably contain some form of legal high with similar effects. There's all sorts of crap nowadays which is supposed to mimic the effects of illegal drugs, from cannabis to ecstacy to speed.

TBH, If I want the buzz a certain illegal drug provides I'd rather take the acual illegal substance - at least there is decades of research behind them and you know the likely effects and risks involved. These new substances are complete unknown quantities, and potentially more dangerous than the real thing they're copying.

used to be able to buy a german slimming pill called captagon over the counter in Thailand, you wouldnt sleep for days and drink like a fish but the comedown was bloody horrible.

We used get medicinal-grade amphetamine from a crooked dentist when we were young. Was great when you were up, but the come-downs were horrendous. Most of us stopped doing it pretty quickly, but a few old mates started injecting it, then went down the slippery slope pretty quickly afterwards.

True story though from WWII, when Ze Germans paratrooped into Crete they were bang on the amphetamines, quickly realised as the Brits encountered their ability to fight non stop. Ze Germans were being re-supplied by air dropped canisters which contained further supplies of amphetamines and battles broke out over ownership as the Brits tried to commandeer them, so that they could get high too.

Phentamine

It is a prescription weight loss drug. Normally spelled "Phentermine".

Would not mess with it without strict medical supervision.

Similar to amphetamines, but different in detail......

Tried it once about 35 years ago. Loved it so much, then realised better to never touch it again.
Would have been the end for me.
