Is Professional Wrestling Gay?

I've been disturbed about this for many years. I've been a bit of a closet (not that sort!) fan, but never felt it was the right sort of thing to discuss with friends and family.

When I was a boy I used to watch it regularly on ITV on saturday afternoons. Later when I had to work in the US for a year, I had the misfortune to be stuck in a dire "Days Inn" motel just outside of Boston and the only thing that always seemed to be on TV was 'WWF'.

I still get watch it regularly, although I feel a bit less guilty about it, now there's a lot more women on it rather than sweaty fat blokes.

So, how gay is it?

My Grandpa (R.I.P.) was an avid fan.

We went to some matches.

This was back in the day when "Captain Albano" and "Gorrilla Monsoon" were big.

And I even met 'Captain Albano." (R.I.P.)

Well, When I was a young man and life was a party I was working on the 405 freeway in the San Fernando Valley, I owned a house there not far from the Bud brewery,
Over on Sepulveda Ave was a new place that had opened ,Gorgeous Georges "RING SIDE CLUB", good place to score Groupies as they used to come in there with a "hard on like a donut" for wrestlers, who were so many of em queer that there was plenty of the groupies left for the ordinary guys just drinking beer.
So from what I saw then, I would say that Yes, a lot of em are fairies..

A while ago, a French sociologist named Roland Barthes deconstructed pro wrestling. Essentially he said that it was choreographed justice, a way for the stupid and the downtrodden to feel that the good guys can win against the powerful forces of evil. After all, the good guys always do win in the ring. As for me, I simply think it's gay, homo-erotic violence and retarded on top of it. Now women wrestlers, that's a different story.
