    Ballistic

Boy did I go ballistic last night. It was about 9 PM. I had just finished my shower and was lying in bed. Since it was Saturday night the kid had no homework and was engaged in her favorite acitivity, watching cartoons. I was watching along with her, trying to pick out some Thai and enjoying her amusement. Suddenly, there's a shout from grandma in the front room for her to give up the UBC remote so that the rest of the family could watch a football game.

What the f*ck! It's my UBC. I pay for it. What nerve they have to think that they can decide how it's used. I'm afraid I really laid it on thick to poor Ms. AC. After I got done with my litany of horrors about what a bunch of selfish lazy slobs her family are she was in tears. Of course this is the same day that Imelda had left her water bottles on the counter for me to fill, so I was already pissed off. (Imelda is the "me only" sister in law, so named because of her massive collection of shoes.)

This morning was no better. No water, so this is A's signal to wash his car and leave the spare water jars empty for me to fill. Sure enough, he drove off with the water jars empty and the water tap on. Luckily I caught it before too much water went down the drain.

And, he found a dead cat in the gutter. Could he be bothered to dispose of the body. No. He left that for me to do. What a f*cking jerk.

I'm really anxious for our new house to get done as I'm really tired of this bunch. I pay all the bills. I do all the work. I know that when I leave the garden will revert to the dusty patch of dry earth that it was when we arrived. The plumbing and electrical will deteriorate to the state they were before I repaired everything and nothing above shoulder level will ever again be cleaned.

There. Off my chest. Rant over.

I must admit that I couldn't tolerate the in laws. Mum and Dad are dead but brother and sister are still alive and scrounging.

We had them living in our house for a while and neither of them would clean anything properly - brother never did a stroke. The house was being over run with ants because of food left out and sister's answer to large food disposal was to throw it out the window.

I came very near to killing brother when he drank the entire last bottle of my son's medication. Unfortunately it didn't seem to have any bad effects on him.

Getting rid of them back to Isaan was the best thing I've done.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

I don't know the background domestic details, but doubt very much anything'll improve your end; things tend not to, and rant away if it's a release but you'll still be the maddog farang without a clue how things work up here in the sticks.

Chinese are just rude in general so I take it that they are "uneducated", not from college education, but from social behavior.

    Not at all AC

I just find it sad that a grown man doesn't stand up for himself and lets people treat him like a doormat.

You seem like a decent chap as well.

Sorry I don't meet up to your standards of behavior. Perhaps that's why I'm such a recluse. Ashamed of myself, really.

And, no, I am not a decent chap. Not at all.

I am so impressed with my Mother in law.
She is hard working, thrifty and responsible.
She lives with us btw. She cleans the house, cleans my car, does the shopping. She has never asked for any money, and she even bought 14 rai of land with her own money in Ubon. We will help to put a house on it (I have budgeted 350K bht), but it will ultimately be left to my wife anyway.
There is no lazy, drunken, wife beating father in law- he fucked off years ago. There is one sister, who we helped out with 10000 Bht when she had a baby. When Mum used to live and work in Bkk, we did pay her rent of 6000 Bht per month.
I have no reason to doubt these stories of lazy, sponging families but my experience has been quite different.

I am sure thats not correct, maybe you are just on a bit of a downer,

Anyway, not all fit the sterotypes, my inlaws are Issarn, they are generally hard working, women more than men, but when they need to even they can be dynamos of activity. They are perfectly polite and have only asked for money when they had a lighting strike which killed 4 Buff's, they returned my money the day they got it back from the government.
They are doing a rebuilding job on their own house now.
There canít be good living where there is not good drinking

See mate that is where I see a problem. You are making your wife cry because you are upset with her family.

Maybe your user name is appropriate.

My mother-in-law is a chinesse thai uneducated peasant, can't even read or write. She's great, hard working and very savy. From day 1 up here she has always gone out of her way to look after me and make me feel welcome and part of the family, oftent berating my wife for not looking after me well enough ( which is great ) My brother-in-law , his wife and little boy also live with us, all work hard never scrounging. None of them would ever dream of taking anything from the house without my permission.

Chinesse/thai, Thai, Lao, falang, peasant or educated it does'nt matter some people are just c#nts some not. Its got nothing to do with where they come from or their level of education
I have more than the average number of arm and legs

    Good man.

Are you the sort who calms down quickly then?

My missus fucking hates it when I get annoyed cause she knows that once I'm finished ranting it's over with and forgotten about whereas she remembers for hours.
