for me and me mates - yes.

for others in east jakarta, still cleaning up etc.

for the politicians - blame game well and truly started, looks like the current governor is gonna take the fall for it (it being lack of flood preventions measures, lack of city response to actual floods, lack of follow up afterwards)

despite there being flooding of one degree or another every year the authorities do little other than make promises, most of the canals in the city were built by the dutch when the city was Batavia a long time ago.

No need to say farewell, just wander off and jump back it when we don't expect it. Don't leave it too long though else we may have forgotten about you. It's very dispiriting to make a grand announcement of 'Hi everyone, I'm back" only to be met with, 'Who the bloody hell are you?"

If you are really leaving TD never to return make sure that you haven't left anything behind. It's dreadfully embarrassing for everyone when someone returns to pick up their car keys after a long emotional goodbye....Especially if everyone has started talking about them.
