    Rewrite a headline

Post a real headline from a newspaper from back home, then rewrite it so it's comprehensible to us expats.

Someone you've never heard of was rude to someone else you've never heard of on TV, and now all the busybodies are up in arms about it. Nothing to worry about.

The country is going down the toilet. The government are taking away your civil rights. You pay more tax so that more police can protect you from imaginary dangers. But it's OK because you are too busy watching this shite to care.

I just watched the first episode of the new season of 'Top Gear'. Jeremy Clarkson described Jade Goody as 'a racist pig-faced waste of blood and organs'.

I've seen the footage & it wasn't at all racist. It was typical Jade all over (fat, loud-mouthed slag) but not racist.

Clarkson's joined the lynch mob - the masses sure love a good old hate campaign - who are attacking a young girl & I bet it got him a cheer from those fucking morons in his audience who laugh at his pathetic jokes. His commentary skills are top notch but you would have to be what they call - I think the medical term is proper mong - to find his comments funny. I like Clarkson a lot but his village were the first to make banners & have a good old protest-march when an immigration centre was going to built roughly ten miles from them. Imagine the words banded about in the local country pub as they sit supping their port & sherry. Far worse than calling somebody 'Shilpa Popadom' I reckon.

These people still use the word coloured & think they're being polite.

Picture Clarkson's face if his daughter brought home a gansta-rap, straight-from-the-hood, big black mo' fo' to meet the family over Sunday dinner. Grandma would have a heart-attack on the spot.

You folks in LOS were lucky that you missed the full force of the UK media saturation coverage of this twaddle....The Big Brother story that is, not benbaaa's thread - they've hardly mentioned that....I never saw the show, but from what I couldn't fail to pick up was that the 'racism' was on a scale of, 'Ooh, you smell of curry'. Apparently the antics on the show are meant to be a reflection of society....I'm bored senseless by the whole thing....Big Brother that is, not benbaaa's thread.

I worked for a web development company for a while and one of the web teams had a live feed from the BB house into their office i.e. they could watch it 24 hours rather than just the edited 'highlights'.

I chanced to go into their office while they were having a break and the scene was this:

The web team were sitting around the television watching the BB inmates, who were sitting around a television watching a video of themselves watching a television. A surreal moment.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.
