![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | THAILAND: expat whingers, thaibashers, etc plenty thai bashing ,whingeing and whining about the thais goes on on this forum. much of it posted by myself,i have to admit. ..but has anybody thought about what thailand would be like without the clowns, corruption, idiocy, laziness, prostitution, anarchy etc? just imagine there was no anarchy; the thais all worked hard and obeyed the law; were considerate to others- no idiots-just serious people going about their business, etc. would any one of us still want to live there? would miggins, somtamslap and co have anything interesting to post about and give us a chuckle? would td even have a reason to exist? design a "perfect" thailand, sorting everything you think you hate about the place, and (apart from the fukkn litter), i bet you would end up with a bland, characterless place with good weather but very little real appeal except for a beach or two (and let's face it, there are plenty of other places with better beaches etc) and some old temples nobody seriously gives a shit about anyway! this has been keeping me awake for months now, and i have decided that after i become prime minister, i am gonna change: NOTHING! 'cept the fukkn litter, of course and maybe the religion, of course, and maybe....... naah. fukkit! leave it as it is. it's PERFECT

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There will always be something to moan about. These people who do run down the Thais, include me in that one, would do the same about the locals if back home or anywhere in the world. If not the locals, then the Weather or food or internet connection or TV or shite beer. The list is endless. That's what's great about these forums, you can get out all the stress |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All but slowly they are changing it. Away goes the old style bars and up goes the big hotels and condos. Next Starbucks, Mc Ds, and pizza hut. Just look at soi 22 over the past few years. |

In a forward progressive intent, less demeaning - not just in relation to Thais and Thailand, but everywhere. Whinging and moaning is anarchical in it's own way. Stimulation would lose it's edge if all where foced upon homogeny.

On multi lane hwys. thais drive like Amercians, in the middle lane at the posted speed limit, lane discipline be damned. I'm in the change nothing camp. Not everywhere can be the same. | |

![]() | Is this a wishful thought? Why would one care to see everywhere the same? Every situation, like everywhere, will naturally never repeat itself a second time. The universal order. Yet, some camps insist upon creating or forcing a false homogeneity. |
