    Gays

Please read before you start flamming me. I ain't bashing on gays in this thread, I believe in choices. IMO gay marriages shouldn't be allowed cos it's a sin. :P

I'm up for a descent discussion.

Being from a a civilised country I'd have to vote no it's not a sin.

But to be fair I did have a good education and neither of my parents were mental or bigoted/racist...phewee guess I was just lucky.

I'll be starting a few polla soon.

There ain't no black in the Union Jack...so why let them in?

Being brown....a sin? 'Cos Jesus was well white with blue eyes.

Basically IMO any religion which advocates scare tactics to stop people doing stuff which can be construed as 'natural' and makes it a sin to be happy.....is some fucked up shit!

Is it just the marriage thing? Or is the arse dipping as well? I.e. Why do a lot of Arabs/Asians (who IME love shagging arses...boy's, men's and women's) go on about something and say how bad it is when they practice it on a regular basis?

My basic theory is...the more gays there are, the more women there are for ME!!!! Which isn't really a bad thing.

Each to their own as long as they're happy, not hurting anyone and are consenting adults...let them do what ever the fuck they want to do.

None of us here are lily white, or without some kind of sin....so do not judge others, lest you yourself be judged.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, and all that shite!

To me it's a sin. The ten commandments clearly states what's right and what's wrong (I ain't a preacher but I do believe in religion). Anything outside of what the ten commandments say makes it either 'not right' or illegal.

^ Mate they were written a long time ago chap, I think a few of them are a tad out of date

That's what you call evolving, if we as people evolve, surely our laws and rules should as well?

So you don't covet your neighbours ox?

^ What does this mean in today's society?

And how many people can truly say they don't covet anything? I doubt there's many, if at all......as it's human nature to want what you ain't got.

Same as the old pork shite, that's was 'cos then we didn't have fridges, but some backward people still refuse to eat pork.....crazy huh? In this day and age you'd think people would know what's 'real' and what is old wive's tales, superstition (sp?) and scare tactics.

If you have to be ruled by fear (which it seems is what most religions do) then I'm sorry but I don't want to be in that club!

Really Macha in this day and age and with your reasonable education you really think gays are committing a sin (and does it say they can't get married or can't have sex in the commandments?)??? I didn't think they made people like that anymore

Aside from the fact that nowhere in the Ten Commandments does it make any mention to gays, or gay behaviour

and if it does, show me where.

Commandment 6, however, does make mention to not committing adultry

And Commandment 9 does make mention to not coverting one's neighbour's wife

[two out of ten, shows us hetrosexuals cannot keep our cocks in our pants]

I think that anyone who sticks their nose into other people's business, lifestyles, bedrooms are self-righteous busy bodies with nothing better to do except being cunts.

Live and let live, let others be what they want to be, and they'll let you what you want to be.

Stick your nose in, then expect others to do the same to you!

    Which Ten Commandments?

    Protestant

    Catholic

    Hebrew

    1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

    1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

    1. I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

    2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

    2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

    2. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; Thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.

    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

    3. Remember thou keep the Sabbath Day.

    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

    4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother.

    4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath in honour of the Lord thy God; on it thou shalt not do any work, neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    5. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

    5. Thou shalt not kill.

    5. Honour thy father and thy mother; in order that thy days may be prolonged upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

    6. Thou shalt not kill.

    6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    6. Thou shalt not kill.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    7. Thou shalt not steal.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8. Thou shalt not steal.

    8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

    8. Thou shalt not steal.

    9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

    9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife.

    9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

King James Bible, issued by the American Bible Society.

    The ten commandments

    1. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
    2. You shall have no other gods besides Me.
    3. You shalt not swear falsely by the name of the Lord.
    4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
    5. Honor your father and your mother.
    6. You shall not murder.
    7. You shall not commit adultery.
    8. You shall not steal.
    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
    10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house.

I've heard people saying "the Bible says homosexuality's wrong." That's great! Not a sin then is it?

Anything that's regarded wrong by the Bible is a sin and should be avoided. I ain't against gays. If I didn't like gays, I'd have a hard time living in Thailand.

Being a Muslim, Macha probably still doesn't do the pork thing.

Then again, I wonder if he follows the Prophet's examples in terms of picking wives, plural, including the one who was only 8 years old?

I'm neither a Christian nor a Muslim, so the whole religious angle means bugger all to me.

Macha - you are a prize prat!! You cite a source as being your grounds for varification and you do no research whatsoever.

BTW - the Bible also says working on a Sunday is a sin. That one is against the 10 Commandments. But does my boss listen?

I dont think that it is fair to look at being gay from a religeous platform although you do introduce the question of gay marriage which is fundamentaly a religeous wotsit.

In todays world I believe that ppl's sexuality is an individual choice. The problem with the marriage issue should only be a legal one. You know, when a marriage breaks down the courts will have to decide on who gets what unless a settlement is reached between the two ppl. Sadly, acrimony usually prevents this.

My opinion.............sure, let 'em do what they like as long as it is within common decency..

Mate I could fit you in my foreskin (I remember when I helped this group of cubs when their tents blew away....but I digress and could get arrested for naughtiness....although honestly it wasn't sexual...them and Arkala just needed somewhere dry...well reasonably...to stay).

    Cap,

You are right, when you say sexuality should be an individual case. As far as the legal issue is concerned, IMO there are far more legal question re pension rights, inhertiance rights, beneficiaries, etc. than there are re breakdown of relationships.

We read at 1*Corinthians 6:9, 10: “Make no mistake: no fornicator or idolater, none who are guilty either of adultery or of homosexual perversion .*.*. will possess the kingdom of God.” (The New English Bible) Or, as the verse is paraphrased in The Living Bible: “Homosexuals—will have no share in his kingdom.”

Biblically speaking, the matter is quite clear, is it not? The Bible just plainly shows that homosexuality is wrong. The Scriptures are thus consistent, not just showing the bad effects of this practice, but also properly condemning what produces those ill effects.

No not really as it also applies to those that are unmarried (but having sex) or committing adultery as well. Basically anyone that isn't married.

And then if you look at the big picture you'd only be allowed to have sex if you're making a baby (a la Catholics).

Push comes to shove if you went by the Bible rule by rule none of us will/would have a share in the Kingdom mate.

So no not at all Macha! Please try harder

Take the Bible with a pinch of salt, there's some good shit in there, but also a lot of outdated and ignorant stuff as well.

Macha: sorry, but again you are wrong.

The first recorded [in print] use of the term homosexual was in an 1869 publication. Now, even by best guesses, that somewhere in the region of 1,500 years after the Bible. As such, the term homosexual, as a biblical moral judgement, is one person's interpretation of their reading of data.

Without wishing to be rude old boy, would it be at all possible for you to have an original thought of your own?
