Safety of a Forum.

As with most of the posters on the Forum I have more time on my hands now than previous so looking in on new threads and the posts that are generated from the topic becomes a real time filler.

Many really interesting topics and posts that one can benefit from as well as the occasional light hearted banter that can be comical and amusing.

What does amaze me is how the forum has so many self professed experts who not only sprout their wisdom but decry the contributions of others in the process.

To disagree with someone elses opinion is ones perogative but to ridicule them as many seem to delight in has me wondering as to the credibility of the offending poster.
Would these, in your face posters have the courage to attack as they do if they were in the actual company of those they are denigrating?

Taking the piss out of someone on the forum is fine but if you would not do it personally why hide behind the forum wall.

My choice of course to read the posts or not but when negativity and insults form the majority of the posters comments I wonder at the intelligence of those involved.

BTW this is not in reference to any posters recent comments to my threads. I do my best to ignore critical responses unless they are made in a reasonable constructive manner.

I think you hit the nail on the head in your first dozen words or so.

Too much time on our hands. The piss taking is just a manifestation of that. The day you take it seriously is the day you should throw your computer out of the window. So in your case probably about 6 weeks ago.

Couldnt agree more AT, this is a good forum but there are obviously a regular number of posters who have been 'posting' way too long and simply believe that TD is their own personal site to ( anonamously) heap shit on anyone who in any way, disagrees with their own pathetic opinions and try to stand over any one who has a logical opinion to put forward. A shame really, that 8 or 9 wankers control what is probably able to be a pretty good forum otherwise.
