    England Fans just can't win...

If we get right behind our national side before big tournaments we're called "delusional"; if we say there's no chance we can win, we're accused of being negative twats who should be happy we've qualified.

Blimey! Make you're minds up you in bred, wife beating, dole scrounging Jock/Taff/Mick fuckers...

I think the English fans are the most vocal, adoring, dedicated and long suffering (apart from the cricket over the last few years) that support their home teams on this planet.

When you consider the Barmy Army, their cricket team had their arse kicked by Australia for over a decade but they would still tour making the Aussie supporters humble in comparison.

Sometimes it's not only about winning, it's all about being part of it and most Poms I know are always there, win, lose or draw and enjoying themselves regardless of the result.

And the rugby. We've done fairly well over the last decade considering we've been shite for most of it.

It's better to be ""pissed off"" than ""pissed on!""

I think it's a bit of a misnomer that it's the English fans that are delusional before a big tournament and that it is actually the press that spout all the same bollocks about us winning it.

In fact my experience of forums such as these is that if anything England fans say that they're going to win it before a tournament as a tongue in cheek faux arrogance that gets the Jocks/Taffs/Paddies et al biting like mother fuckers!!!!

^ I agree. The accusations of "arrogance" mainly tend to come from North of the Border though as the Taffs and Paddys will generally begrudgingly "follow" England as they're all Liverpool/ManU/Arse/Chelsea fans anyway so find some identity with England that way.

It was quite refreshing last night to see how happy the French were after they just scraped a group they should have pissed via another iffy bit of reffing.

I think the media are to blame too most of the time. They expect England to turn in World beating performances in every game; when they do, it's like 1966 all over, when they don't, it's the end of the world...

Probably as many times as other nations who have actually won anything go on about their successes.

It's only those from notions who have never won fuck all who get pissed off at the 1966 stuff...personally I'd talk about it all day...
