Following what can only be described as one of the most embarrassing performances in England's history in the 2010 WC, Capello had thre ideal opportunity to re write the script on TWO counts.
1) To eject the majority of the deadwood who had consistently under performed and 2) commence to invest in the undoubted YOUNG talent available not just for this year's Euro's but so that Capello's replacement would have the foundation on which to prepare for the 2014 WC. Equally important, I have no doubt that the vast majority of England fans would have supported his actions.
Capello's replacement will now be given the thankless task to TOTALLY re build the England squad from top to bottom in less than two years before WC 2014,
By the time the 2014 WC comes around then TERRY, COLE, LAMPARD, BARRY, BENT, GERRARD, FERDINNAND etc, will all be on the wrong side of thirty.
England have three friendly's before the Euro's so what an ideal opportunity to commence the re buildng process but I guess that when you are on 6 million pounds + ayear and knowing that you will receive a massive 'PAY OFF' should the FA dispense with your services then obviously therecan only be one winner.
