![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh FFS not again Saints make it 6 grand Final appearances in a row, as ref choses Leeds Rhinos to join them. Unfancied Saints overcame Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors 26-18 at the Stobart Stadium to book their sixth consecutive Grand Final appearence. And this on the back of playing all their home games " away" at the nearby Stobart Stadium, home of the Widnes Vikings. Having moved from their traditional, knowsley Road ground, which has been bulldozed for development, and awaiting the completion of their new ground. Meanwhile over at the Halliwell Jones another see-saw nail-biter saw the wolves and the rhinos dead locked at 24-24 with 1 minute remaining and everybody readying for the golden point extra time period. Inexplicably referee Ganson chose the rhinos for the final when awarding Leeds the last minute penalty for an "off-side" of the type he had ignored all night. So there you go its a saints v rhinos grand final at Old Trafford next weekend Its the first time one of the top two finishers aint in the grand final, and the rhinos could become the first No 5 finisherer to win it. Irony is controversial referee Ganson is from St Helens, draw your own conclusions. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Rhinos late surge grabs Grand Final glory. For the fourth time in 5 yearrs the Leeds Rhinos win Grand Final at a rain soaked Old Trafford Manchester, overcomming St Helens 32-16 , who themselves have appeared in the last 6 Grand Finals. A see saw contest saw the lead change hands several times before Leeds scored 3 late tries following injury to Saints right centre and fullback . Top performance from the Rhinos following back to back challenge cup final lossess, and especially taking the competition from a lowly 5th place finish. Nowt like setting your stall out while the rest of em knock 7 bells out of each other . So another season over with League Champions - Warrington Wolves Grand Final - Leeds Rhinos Challenge Cup - Wigan Warriors. With the world club championship between Leeds Rhinos and the Manly Sea eagles |
