    The mighty Eagles

Even though I know most of you either don't understand or don't care I still want to share that feeling when your team wins the grand final.

Yep today the West Coast Eagles in front of 97,400 fans and millions on TV won the Australian football league final vy defeating Sydney by just 1 point (The closest grand final for 40 years). Last years Grand final saw the same teams but the Eagles losing by 4 points.

Today was sweet revenge as well as heart attack material. I watched it with my brother and his family as well as an old school friend with who I watched the very first time the eagles won a flag back in 1992.

After the game my wife, baby and I went for a walk around town and was amazed to see all the people out in the street and driving around town, some a little worse for wear but all in great spirits

Well done fallas - you done us all proud.

News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

I was in that Vic Park pub that none of us remember the name of in'92 for the other final. Yelled myself hoarse. Great day. Pity I missed this one.

    How did the Dockers go?

WA always have the best players, the Vics used to steal them in the past so they could win but it seems we can afford to keep them in WA now.

I'm glad their shorts are looking more like shorts these days.

It would be a great game if you could understand the tackle ball rule.
The outfits are a bit gay though.....

Glad to hear you are a supporter Bung.

Dockers did great this year as well, beaten by the swans in the pre lim final. If they had won it would have been a western derby at the MCG!

    Chris Judd's Victorian mate.

Remember Brian Peake? Came over with the biggest reputaion and failed miserably. He did it about 3 seasons too late.

    Lou Richards nicknamed him 'Pasties'

    Who's Cris Judd??

Sorry, I left in 1997 so can only refer to things that happened before then.

Has things changed? Did the eaglets steal some Vics? That would be a turn up for the books!

My Uncle and Auntie are friends of Ben Cousins and he gave them grand final tickets. Spoke to them yesterday and they said the atmosphere was pretty full on.

Chris Judd won the brownlow 2 years ago followed by cousins last year and goodes from sydney this year.

The word is drafted not steal.

I wonder how many West Aussies are playing in Victoria?

Pay television in Australia, Fox, have recently lost the right to show AFL.
For their last broadcast they showed the 2005 grand final at the same time as this years GF. Thousands around Australia watched the wrong game (same two sides) without knowing. Many thought it looked familiar, but put it down to the closeness of these teams. Many Swans supporters were celebrating what they thought was a second win in two years.
