    Desert golf

Today I got a bit sick off the rig and decided to go for a hit of golf didn’t have any golf tees so we made some up out of the ends off silicon tubes seems to work ok
Then we checked out the club house looked like it hadn’t been used for a while
The course hasn’t been used for many years due to the most the expats having left over the last 5 years but someone had put a fair bit of work into at some stage
The greens are a real challenge might try and level one of them out a bit tomorrow and the sand traps are full of sand (funny that)there was even a boat in the water feature at some stage its not much
But still it’s the best form of entertainment around here

Spread some diesel around your tees and the putting green, it will make it easier.

You probably have no shortage of diesel there.

But wouldn't that damage the grass?

Thought i might mention it here.

I shot my first ever level par round on Tuesday.
    72 on a par 72 course.

    14 pars, 2 birdies, 2 bogeys.

not bad for an 8 handicapper.

It was a wonderful feeling and I have been telling everyone I met, even phoned home.
i just can't seem to shut off from show off mode.
Even contemplated opening a thread, but that might be too much.

I was thinking about taking a roughneck or the room boy to be the cattie today. Toyota land cruiser makes a good golf cart

    Impressive....where was that?

I played Lanna and Highlands on the weekend, Highlands was spoiled by rain and sodden fairways, but certainly a nice course.

As for discussing scores, I'll step off the the side and let you enjoy the limelight....
