| David slays Golliath In a truly stunning boxing performance the Englishman David Haye took out Russia's world champion heavy weight champ Nikoli Valuev "The Beast from the East" in a 12 round points decision match. Haye out boxed the Russian in every way, staying well clear of the giants blows while springing in and out of range picking his punches and landing heavy blows that rocked Valuev in a way that he'd never experienced before in his pro career. I'm sure that all Teak Door members would like to join me in congratulating David on his outstanding achievement tonight. ![]() Last edited by Sdigit : 08-11-2009 at 07:47 AM. |

| Quality performance. He showed a maturity that many doubted he possessed. Hopefully the hand won't be so bad and next year he can do away with the Klitschko boys and then trounce a yank or two. |

| Congrats to Haye, an amazing result, gotta be pretty daunting getting into the ring with a 7ft guy who looks like Shrek's evil twin. Still, I wish he had acted with more class before the fight. He should say that he got caught up in the heat of the moment challenging to become world champion and retract the stupid shit he said.

| That was nothing more than gamesmanship mixed with healthy dose of arrogance. How could he even get into the ring with a Beast like Valuev without denigrating him first, it bolstered his own confidence while possibly diminishing Valuev's. Like most boxers Haye will have the utmost respect for his opponents, more for Valuev because of his size reach and power. It really wasn't personal Slack |

If you knew anything about boxing you would undrstand why the fight had to be fought the way Haye fought it. It was a superb exibition of Boxing not brawling. | |

| Hang about, I was a bit hasty, I've just watched one of the clips provided by Fuzzy & saw maybe three punches thrown throughout the whole thing. That wasn't a fight. Fucking pussy just kept running round the ring. Great victory? Bollocks. |

| A great victory over a very awkward opponent. Theres boom and bash slugfests then theres a tactical fight, as much as I'd loved to have seen Haye go all guns blazing and knock him out it was never going to happen. The tactical approach was spot on and won him the belt. ![]() ![]()
