Real Madrid 'signs van Nistelrooy'
Madrid (dpa) - Real Madrid have clinched a deal to sign Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy from Manchester United, a Spanish radio station reported early Thursday.
Cadena SER said Real would pay about 15 million euros for van Nistelrooy and he would come to Madrid on Thursday.
The World Cup striker, 30, would be the third signing of new Real president Ramon Calderon after Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson.
Van Nistelrooy's arrival in Madrid could also precipitate the departure of unpopular Brazilian hitman Ronaldo.
