Speaking of ManU, I'm curious to see how that young Mike Owen feller does.

Pompey favourites for relegation. Sold all their best players, ownership limbo, prospects grim.......UNLESS this prospective arab buyer gets the deal done and sticks his hand deep down in his pockets to buy some quality before the window shuts in 2 weeks time.

Chelsea for the title, interesting to see how Man citaaay get on. Will be nice to see the big four shaken up.

What would William Hill give you for that? Can you place that bet? I can't, the US bluenoses won't let you use a US credit card to bet in GB. But they will let you short stocks.

Unfortunately, that's simply true. How about Stoke getting into the top 4? OK, 6? Teams in US pro sports seem to have Cinderella seasons, but when is the last time that happened in EPL? I have a Spanish (Canaries, used to live in Liverpool) friend in Florida, and I can guarantee he'll say the same thing to me again when I go back and see him- "Same four again this year." all smug and La Liga supporting. I was sure I had him last year.

Blackburn '95 is what I've just been e-mailed.

    Interesting result

    Everton 1 - Arsenal 6

The last time Everton lost 6-1 at home was back in 1958, and Arsenal did the damage that time as well.

    Chelsea for the title.

Top 4 to remain the same Man City 5th.

Wolves, Burnley and Pompey to go down.

No, Mad Hatter, it was I asking for odds on Stoke winning the double. Tell ya what, make that 2,000,000 to my 1,000, but just to be sure your serious, w-stoke gets to hold the bet until the end of the season (i.e., we each give him our respective sums to hold, just to keep us honest).

Or, you could go back and read w-stoke's reply to my question about what William Hill would give a punter on a bet like that.

In the words of the immortal Foghorn Leghorn, that's a joke son:

Just having a quick shave, and i'll be 'round as soon as i can to collect all monies for the safekeeping thereof. It is a wise and honourable thing that you would entrust the wager to one as upstanding and of such sound financial morals as my goodself. If i may be so bold as to suggest an upping of the ante, to say a round 10,000,000 bht, to make the wager that little bit more interesting.

( Get the kettle on mum, i might be back sooner than expected)
