    Dr Rossi does it again

Valentino Rossi wins the Barcelona GP from Lorenzo in a very thrilling race especially the last three laps

It was touch and go as to which of the Yamaha team would win, my money was on Rossi,

His 99th GP win, he is some racer,

As well as being a multi world champion he is likeable, unlike Formula 1 poseurs

Never seen Gp covered on TD

How the f*ck do they do it ???
I used to be over the bloody moon if I got 125mph out of my 350 Manx Norton in a straight line!
These buggers change down a couple of gears to get round corners at that speed !

    Had them both!

A list of bikes owned and raced is

    Itom 50cc
Kreidler 50cc - Ex Hans George Ansheit
    Bultaco 125cc
Moto Rumi 125cc- race kitted Rumi "gentleman" sports bike
    AJS 7R 350cc
Gold star 350cc- in a Manx frame - had to cut and alter the bottom tube of the featherbed frame to clear the Goldie oil drain 'ole- sacrilige !!
    Manx 350cc
    Manx 500cc
BMW 500cc Rennsport( sidecar)- ex Florian Camathius
    1000cc Vincent (sidecar)
250cc Elstar( grasstrack) BSA engine- C15 with the fins turned off the barrel as we ran them on methanol
500cc Elstar ( grasstrack) Same as above but with the 440 Victor engine.

Started as soon as I got my licence at 16 and sort of stopped when I started working overseas at 23/ 24 - did a few longtrack races in the Netherlands on the Elstars - had to - I was a partner in the small factory in West Brom that made them and we were closing down and wanted to clear the remaining stock !

    PS
The 350 was not a lot different from the 500 in speed - due no doubt to me 'chickening out'

    Did indeed
Drained it every month and sold it to Halfords
They put it in tins and sold it on as Silver Knight Motor Oil !

No but my best guess is at the British Leyland plant, in the engine of a nice new Morris Oxford.

I have no interest in motorbikes and don't make a point to watch, I find most racing reasonably dull, though I'll often watch if it is on....

Well, it was on and I watched the last 5 laps with my two boys.

At the end of it we were hollering, that really was the most incredible piece of racing from both men I have ever seen, how they can get that close to each other at that speed is incredible, they were right on the limit during those last two laps.

    Simply Amazing.
