    Hatton v Pacquiao

    The fight is next Saturday.

Thoughts on this? Has Mayweather tightened up Hatton's defence enough to nullify the Pacman's immense hand speed and accuracy? Will Hatton be able to bully a lot smaller Manny and grind him down using his body punching? Will the Pacman just have too much class and out punch and out score Hatton?

Although, Manny deserves to be favourite I am swaying to the side of a late Hatton stoppage or a points victory. I just feel that the size of Hatton when he comes in and the fact that he is a bully at 140 and is undefeated at this weight will be the deciding factor. Yes, Pacman destroyed De La Hoya who was also the much bigger man but I think it was clear to seed that ODLH was well past his past and his subsequent retirement has proved this.

Either way it is going to be a cracker.

When Hatton was beaten by Mayweather he was beaten by a true accurate boxer and exactly what the Pacman is. Hatton could hardly lay a glove on Mayweather throughout the entire fight.

There is no doubt that Hatton is a great fighter and as tough as nails but I reckon Manny is just too good a technical boxer for him to handle.

Anyway I hope it will be a great fight.

I'm going Pacman too. I'd like to see Hatton do it but I don't think he has the quality. I hope to be proved wrong.

Should have made this a public vote and then the losers could have been the first on trial at the TD Court.

As a friend says, Hatton cuts way to easily around the eyes. Pacman will chew him up. First sight of blood and he will focus on it and it will end up with Hatton looking like stewed tomatoes. TKO in mid rounds.

Should be a guud un though.

Pacman gets hit quite a bit during most of his fights with top opposition. Barrera; Morales, and Marquez all laid a bit of leather on him during their series of fights.
Its just that Manny has a great chin, and returned a good sight more in return.

I think Hatton will test him at 140lbs. I think this fight will be a beaut.

Hatton to win it on points.
Only because he is fighting at 140lbs which is his best weight for mixing it. I think Manny would beat him at any other weight due to his stamina, however 140lbs/10stone is Hattons best punching weight.. if he can get close enough to Pacman.

Maussa aside (who is a big gangly awkward fighter) when was the last time Hatton got cut bad? Early on in his career he did but once he was operated on to remove lumps of vaseline that had gathered under his skin he has never suffered badly.

There is definitely a chance what with the Pacmans slashing punches but I personally don't think it will be a major factor.

The difference is though was that Hatton was fighting at a higher weight to his optimum against one of THE best boxers of this generation. A boxer who has never been beat at that weight.

Manny on the other hand has been beaten 3 times and was knocked out in two of those at lower weights. Now I agree he has come on leaps and bounds since those fights and is rightly regarded as the best P4P boxer in the world but there is a huge difference in comparing the two.

This time Hatton is the one undefeated at the weight and is fighting against someone who isn't a natural for the weight. In fact I don't believe he has ever fought at this weight.

Hatton's defence recently has been too wide open lately but I think that changed in his fight against Paulie and I hope with the extra time he has has now with Mayweather snr this will have improved again.

As you say though fingers crossed for a cracking fight with two fighters who are immensely popular and a credit to the boxing game.

I also agree that Hatton will try and use his size and bulk to push Manny around but the thing that worries me about him is Hatton is not a great technical boxer and Manny's ring prowess, speed and brilliant boxing skills might see him through.

Again I hope Hatton wins as I always back the underdog and I am sure it will be a great fight. Can't wait!

    CHAMPIONS

    Champions aren't made in gyms.

Champions are made from something they have deep inside them.

    A Desire.

    A Dream.

    A Vision.

They have to have last minute stamina.

They have to be a little faster.

They have to have the skill and the will.

BUT THE WILL MUST BE MUCH STRONGER THAN THE SKILL

Hope you pull it off Ricky.

Hit fok all showed how shit he is, I'm glad I cheered Pacman on against a load of Chavvy Brits who had no clue.

    Pacman V Mayweather

    I'll give you odds

Pac man wins - no beer for you, two for me where ever we have a booze

Mayweather wins - 5 drinks on the Mulligans House for you

    any takers?
