World Cup TV coverage on Thai TV

The Bangkok Post reports today that all games will be live on Thai terrrestial TV but with NO english soundtrack as per the contract they have signed with FIFA.
It may be possible to hear English soundtrack at certain hotels if they have signed another contract

No English soundtrack only Thai for World Cup

I think I can live with that, just turn the sound down so I don't have to hear that Thai bloke say "Supersave!!!" everytime the goalkeper catches the ball.

Every time the ball goes out of play we're going to get those cutaway ads as well!

I like it when they do it after a great goal so that you miss all the replays!

    Or after a contraversial incident!

I remember watching an England WC qualifier for Japan and the ball goes out for a corner, seeing the ball go out the arsehole engineer who was probably wanking at the time, must have thought it was a goal kick and put an Ad on. If memory serves me right, Paul Scholes scored form the corner and all we saw of it (apart from the tiny image in the corner of the screen) was the celebration afterwards.

I can see this being a TV fiasco! Maybe we should flood the TV companies with emails and tell then to save their frigging ads til HT.

You do get carried away don't you?

Yes let's all write into the Bangkok Post Letters to the Editor.

Are you telling me that you're looking forward to having those annoying cutaways every time the ball goes out of play?

Thankfully for the England games I'll be at a bar with the SA Supersport so no problem then but the rest of the time its going to be kaka.

Are you telling me you seriously think you can make a difference by writing emails?

By all means whine and moan but don't offer up futile suggestions.

    What's the SA Supersport?

    Or indeed what's the bar?

I think a more cunning plan is needed - I've come up with an idea I entitle "reverse buying" - so everytime you see an advert for Singha beer during the football you ruch out and buy a Chang - if enough people do this (I'm hoping to gather 10-20 million), advertiser will see a drop in sales, whereas non-advertisers will see an increase.

It won't be easy, but if we work together we can fight this!!!

If you know anywhere with the JSAT which has Supersport from South Africa, they have the lot on there complete with English Commentary.

I just asked my local cable company if they are going to be showing it through the same channel as they use it to show the Premiershit and they are so I'm happy!
