    umpire ruins a sportsman's career....entitled to sue?

should Haydo sue this stupid umpire?

CONTROVERSIAL Test umpire Aleem Dar last night apologised for the disgraceful blunder that may have ended Matthew Hayden's Test career.
Last night Dar said he would seek out Hayden to say sorry.

The voice of cricket, Richie Benaud, described it as an "astonishing decision" and world cricket was left shocked by the blunder.
Pakistani umpire Dar gave Hayden out caught after he prodded forward to Dale Steyn and the ball popped back off the pad to the bowler.
But the ball had clearly missed his bat, leaving everyone in disbelief.
"That was one of the more astonishing decisions I have ever seen," Benaud said on Channel 9's commentary.
The blunder left Hayden's 8524-run Test career in danger of being extinguished as the big Queenslander now has just 48 Test runs at 9.6 this summer.
The Perth crowd vented its anger at Dar's decision when resounding boos filled the WACA as Hayden left in disgust.
Dar was one of the umpires involved in Australia's farcical World Cup final in the West Indies last year.
He was suspended after he misinterpreted the poor-light rules, with the match ending in a comedy of errors, and surely is facing the sack again after the Hayden error.
Hayden, 37, had a nervous time for his four runs yesterday and had taken 20 balls and 37 minutes to get off the mark.
He also survived a lbw appeal before he had scored when he padded up to Steyn, and also edged a ball that fell short of AB de Villiers at slip.
Hayden has endured a recent series of terrible umpiring decisions after another Pakistani umpire, Asad Rauf, incorrectly gave him out caught behind in the first Test against India in Bangalore in October.
There are no immediate indications Hayden will retire but if his poor run continues this summer the selectors may take the decision out of his hands.
Rampant New South Wales young gun Phillip Hughes is putting Hayden under pressure and the opener will be forced to ponder his future if he again fails in next week's Boxing Day Test.
The irony is that the new umpiring challenge system, which Australia is set to trial in its three-Test tour of South Africa next year, would have saved Hayden.
The system, which allows players to refer decisions made by on-field umpires to the third umpire, is being trialled in the current New Zealand-West Indies series.
"It does beg the question about these challenges, doesn't it?" former England captain Tony Greig said.
"In this case there is no doubt that Hayden would have challenged and there is no doubt the challenge would have resulted in him staying out in the centre."
The Hayden controversy took some of the gloss off a remarkable day for Mitchell Johnson (8-61), who took the best figures by a left-arm paceman in Test history.
Those close to Hayden say he has given no indications he wants to give the game away, however it is telling that his great mate and former opening partner, Justin Langer, this week said he had heard "retirement whispers".

    not at all.

in terms of the game its all swings and roundabouts.

but an interesting concept, if an umpire ruins a sportsman's big chance is he entitled to further action?

    what do you think?

The start has been delayed slightly to 11:40am locally

They've had a couple of showers in the last hour with the forecast of a thunderstorm predicted for later today. The big covers are on at the moment but being taken off by the ground staff.

The sun is out at the moment as ground staff get the field ready for the commencement.

Sounds like a stupid game anyway,, I have no fucking idea what you are even talking about what with all the stupid terminology.

Either it was a BALL, A STRIKE or a HIT, and each has a set thing to do.

    yawn.

translate it to a baseball player then.

Umpire wrongly gives him out on a possible comeback thereby possibly contributing to his career end.

    What do you think?

What a typical intolerent and ignorant statement as toward any sporting activity that's not American-centric. Probably could have easily gone without any comment.

Kallis to Krejza, no run, OUT, cut straight to AB de Villiers diving to his right in the gully.
