I could not vote because of the limited choices. At least a "I have no fucking clue" would have been nice.

But if I have to choose I think I go for the Netherlands. There is a cinspiration going on, you know. They made half of the lawn.

    Talking Trinidad and Tobago

Where are they? I've got a beer bet 40:1 if they win. I'm going with Argentina on this one though.

You can have Brazil and France and I'll have the rest for a couple of k.

    How's that sound?

Brazil are the obvious choice, but the best of the betting long shots has to be Serbia and Montenegro. great rum in, well organised, tough but very skilled. And present political conditions with their proposed break up couls spur them on to a possible Greece type performance.

    Whatever happens, I cant wait

    Oh dear...

MeMock, you are forgiven due to your self-confessed ignorance.

But I hope we aren't going to see too many Australians getting all caught up in the heat of the moment and thinking we actually have a chance to go beyond the first round.

Reading the Australian news websites it seems plenty back home are falling under this delusion...

They got there. That's good. They also might beat Japan and draw with Brazil or Croatia - and if that was the outcome, I would applaud them and say "great World Cup"...but that still wont get them into the second round!

Sorry to complain GoW, but those images are linked to the latest images posted in the whole gallery, rather than to your own gallery, so now when you clink on the link you get a naked woman from Eliminators gallery rather than a piccy of the football gals.

I was confused for a bit!

Rooney set to win fitness battle - England doctor

    Mon 22 May, 12:08 AM
LONDON (Reuters) - Wayne Rooney's chances of playing in England's opening World Cup match looked much more promising after the team doctor said he was encouraged by the striker's recovery from a broken foot.
"Everything points to a perfect recovery," England doctor Leif Sward was quoted as saying in Monday's Sun newspaper.
"I have the highest hopes for Rooney and the World Cup and I hope I can give the perfect answer about Rooney after the next MRI examination on Thursday.
"The healing process has been very very good."
Rooney damaged the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot in Manchester United's 3-0 defeat at Chelsea on April 29 and has been in a race against time to be fit for England's first match against Paraguay on June 10.
He has not kicked a ball since picking up the injury but was photographed riding a bicycle at United's training ground 11 days ago.
"He can put pressure on his foot now with the special protection he is wearing," said Sward.
"It seems Wayne Rooney has the gift of healing quickly but it's not that strange. Young people have that gift, much more than older patients."
    Fingers crossed...

I'd be amazed if he played.
i broke 2 toes and had a hairline foot fracture last year.
It was at least 6 weeks before i could use the clutch on my motorbike.

i hope he does make it though, far less excuses for losing if he's in the team.

Also could I point you towards this. If no-one else joins then I will play on my own and win and get a very big prize, but it might be more interesting if someone else plays and I cheat to win instead.

I've got my team sorted, but you've not given us the Group ID# so I can't sign up for the TD league.

Oh, "Teakdoor League" is not the ID then, cos it hasn't given me any other ID, so either I'm being stupid or something else.

I'll have another look when I get home....
