    Rugby World Cup 2011

Anyone have early favourites to whom the champs might be? Remember, New Zealand is hosting....{go All Blacks}!!!

Shame the stadiums won't be up to the occassion.

Bound to be the All Blacks as favourites as they are before every RWC.

Not enough hotel rooms either. NZ having the WC is a farce.

Yes, these are unfortunate events. Stadiums aren't up to snuff, not enough accomodation space.....

    NZ

By the by, how is New Zealand? It was homebase for some years {mid-80s}. Raised my first batch of daughters there {Tahitian/Marquesan decent}. Kerikeri. Wonder how much the north and the Bay of Islands has changed...??

Don't go then; will leave more room for the real rugby fans.

I'll be there in 2011, enjoying the rugby and laughing at all you knobs sitting at home moaning about stadiums and hotels.

Might be easier to watch the events on TV.

Might be. But nothing like the atmosphere.

With each subsequent post you're moving slowly but surely further away from blagging yourself free accomodation at, and devilishly handsome tour-guide to, World Cup 2011.

Nope, for the perfectly valid reasons I already gave you. And you?

Ahh, another from the Northern Hemisphere that needs it explained to:

Those things where they touch the ball down, worth 5pts, that generate all the excitment... They're called "tries" (or "try" in the singular and much more common NH parlance).

    My team wasn't playing.

I was going to hold your hand and make sure you enjoyed the weekend rather than being back in bed 20 minutes after the game finished.

Once you pulled out I hardly had a reason to go despite having tickets coming out of my ears the last two weeks.

I suggest you look at the tries per game stats between this years 6N games and 3N games.

You might find your self rather embarrased by the latest clueless Keewee rant.

Shall we talk silly dances now?

Just as one swallow does not a summer make nor does one chicken running around like its head has just been cut off constitute a trend.

Rather compare stats for all relevant years shall we? Now, what's all this kerfuffle about dances?

What about 2 WC finals and one proper trophy?

Righto, the same as New Zealand then.

Oh, and before you crack that hoary old chestnut about '87 not being a 'proper' tournament consider this: had England won would you still be insisting the same? No, didn't think so.

Oh yeah and - SH World Cups = 5; NH World Cups = 1

Of course not, but they didn't and it wasn't.

At least you consistently get to the quarter finals. That's not too bad.

    I would, yeah.

And I think you'll find that just as the 6N has some games with few tries, so does your competition, Wales scoring more than most.

Your fluff and bluster isn't really impressing this real fan.

Hey you're the one that brought stats into it, don't complain about unfavourable comparisons now.

Sorry, I meant to say that you use those games to further your prejudices., but I was running to a meeting and forgot to complete the post.

Check the stats year on year and you'll find more tries per game in the 6N.

remember there are 6 teams, not just England, the team that suits your negative stereotype of NH rugby, the team who's games you watch religiously to give yourself a superiority complex.

Watch? Why bother, I merely check the win/loss ratios every now and then:

*Ok so he was talking about NZ Vs. Eng but lets face it, applies across the NH board doesn't it.
