Seems the haka let the land of the long white cloud down again. The Abos even cleaned up the Maori team in the exhibition game :).Quote:

He's gotta be one of the best ever and with regard to any code of Rugby.
Thurston was shit hot too cobber ... put in an amazing show in what must only be a day or two since his uncle was murdered.
Yep didn't see the game but my old man has kept me up to date about what a fabulous player Thursten is. Apparently he was suspended and Melbourne, after being far and away the best team all year got hammered in the Grand Final.
I am stuck between my preference about moving a few of these great league players over to Union or leaving them with League.
How did the forwards go and are there any outstanding new BIG front row fowards....?
Oh by the way thanks for the update thread. :)
The Kangaroos have a lot of personnel out with injuries.
Do any of the other teams stand a realistic chance of winning the Cup?
New Zealand and Britain are the only other two with any sort of chance. And since NZ has just gone down 30-6 you'd have to say, realistically, no.
Whole thing's a bit of a farce in my opinion. Not just because it's merely an extended play-off to see who gets to lose to Australia in the final but also because of the way it has been structured; some of the minnows - who would've been struggling at the best of times anyway - have been given horror draws and/or robbed of their best players through the bizarre eligibility rules in RL making it even harder for them.
They ain't playing, mate.Quote:

They should do seeing as Super League has much higher salaries than NRL and there's been plenty of Aussies playing over there to help improve their game.
I'd also like to see the illegibility rules changed to favour the Islander nations so that they can sport competitive teams.
The R Union world cup, has what, 5 or 6 teams that have realistic chances of winning. Australia have won every RL world cup since 1972.
Maybe they should split the Kangaroos into 2 teams, the Cockroaches and the Cane Toads to make it more interesting.
It still seems odd that the national team is Great Britain and then the team is diluted for the WC. I do understand that they do this to get enough teams to actually have a tournament, but in that case wouldn't it be better to shelve the GB team to promote development of the home nations' own teams?
Shame really, as a GB team are on par with the Aussie team at the moment.
Anyway, it's a crap game compared with Union. :kma:
