    Andorra 0 England 2

I only watched up to 72 mins of the game, I really couldnt be bothered to stay up til 3am watching that team make a fool of me.

The first half. OK, we knew that Andorra arent really going to pose much of a threat, we were expecting a lot of possession and we got it. What did we do with that possession? Alarmingly very little. Theo Walcott was the only player I can remember going past an opposition player more than once. The forwards were crowded and struggled to get any sort of space, Jermaine Defoe is usually OK in those situations but just didnt pull anything off. Rooney is like a headless chicken sometimes trying to get the ball and force something. Throwing crosses in at a striker who is little over 5ft tall is daft. Very poor and rightly booed off at half time.

What I saw of the second half. Joe Cole took his first goal well, if that had fallen to anyone else I wouldnt have expected a goal. Now straight after the kick off from scoring the goal what did we do? Run and rush at Andorra like we needed a goal straight away, hack at a few players to try and get the ball, free kick given to Andorra and possession given away. Do that against Croatia and youre asking for trouble. They werent calm at all, too fired up from getting a goal, calm down, think about the next attack and use your fucking heads for a change. Second goal was a good ball by Rooney and again Joe Cole saved any blushes.

11 men behind the ball isnt easy to play against but when they pose little threat on the break you've still got plenty of men to push forward. I hope they get more organised for the Croatia game or they will punish us. Maybe having to stick to a formation more will help as at times I couldnt tell what formation they were trying to play. If this is the shape of the future England team when we have a few players injured then theres a hell of an uphill battle for Capello.

Overall job done, but I wasnt impressed by the performance at all.

Was it on Thai TV? I fell asleep anyway. Is the Coatia game on Weds night/Thurs morning on the Thai TV?

Just read the report and it reads similar to melvbot's.....crap really, Jo Cole aside.

My mate when to the under 21 game against Portugal the night before and said Milner and Aghbonlahor were excellent, both scored in a 2-0 win!

Maybe Rooney should be axed and one of those 2 promoted up. What happened to Rooney? What a player he was and now isn't!

How tiny is Defoe? Didn't realise til I saw Crouch and him having a cuddle against Everton after his second...Looked well indecent.

Rooney is like a lot of England players, just doesnt impress me at all. He chases the ball, does daft tackles and gets red faced at the referee. His aggression is ttipping him away from being a good player, maybe it will come with age.
i honestly feel for those fans who pay to go and support England. Some of them would spend their hard earned money to travel anywhere in the world to watch them and they get repayed with a gutless half arsed performance most of the time.

I think the kick off is 2000 GMT so 2am here. It wasnt on Thai TV last time afaik so I'd guess it will be Supersport from SA again.

Im undecided. I want to see how the do against a side thats going to give them a game rather than camp in their own half.

If Rooney actually listens to Capello, stays and plays within penalty area width and gives Heskey support (if Heskey starts) it could be a lot better. Rooney has been allowed to wander too much to go and look for the ball, Capello doesnt want that. It was Rooneys ball that set up the second goal and he was where hes most effective, penalty area width just outside of the area.

Surprised nobody has come back to this thread after a display like that & result to match. Not getting too excited though, have seen too many false dawns over the last few years.

There are others that cover the subject...murder in Croatia etc etc.

Anyway I watched the match and was far from impressed, except to say that Theo took his chances well.

Two wins is the best possible start and gives them control of Group 6.

Would be nice to see Wales win their home games and give Germany & Russia a run for their money.

The England game is advertised on Star Sports but say "not in Thailand"

Does anyone know a good quality live streaming link?

    A typical Kazahk...

Kazakhstan is site of first cultivatings of apples. No Kazakhstan, no Cox's Orange Pippins, no Golden Delicious Pink Ladies for sweet bitings. In fact, one-time capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty - great city, population 1,226,000 - is being named after 'alma', Kazakhstan word for 'apple'. Also A is for Andorra, only team Kazakhstan is managing to beat in World Cup campaign so far. Fact: could fit 5,800 tiny countries size Andorra into Kazakhstan.

    Peter Crouch changed his name??
I will avoid watching this game at all costs I think unless Kazhakstan take an early lead!!!

50p head indeed!! scored a nice overhead kick last week though, saying that it looked good but when you look at it closely it bounced off his shin!!!

he has the skillfulness of a cabbage and the touch of a rapist!!

^Was giving the Thai pronunciation for a laugh, sorry that by-passed you.

Over heads do often come off the shin and it was a screamer. Earns a lot of money for doing that for a cabbage....

and baffles me why he earns that much!!
How he ever played for Liverpool passes me by as much as your thai pronounciation of Peter Crouch

His Pompey Strike partner on the other hand is outstanding!!

Was it an over head or did he slip over and the ball bounced off his shin?

You obviously know more than Paul Walsh commenting onhis fantastic technique, and Harry Redknapp who paid 10 miilion pounds for him..... Always got Robbie Savage to brag about though. Where's our CLOCK?

    England 5 Khazakstan 1

I think the best way to describe the result is "flattering".

The first half was a case of all mouth and no action, I think Im right in saying we didnt have 1 shot on target. Second half was better but not as good as the scoreline says. They looked ragged, Rooney was wandering and pulling deep leaving Heskey more or less on his own. Between them I thought what Rooney did was OK, he got the ball and passed it OK but he was near the halfway line when he was doing it, he needs support from midfield to keep him nearer the goal.
All in all a case of job done, 3 wins out of 3 but still a lot of work to do.

I do like Harry Redknapp and maybe he bought Crouch as he needs someone to hold the ball up for Defoe and it works well as he goes for a header at goal and due to his head being like a 50p piece falls nicely for Defoe on the other side of the box!!!

    Pompey what's the time???????
