They need 5, we need 7 can we do it ?

The Ryder Cup is in the balance with 12 singles to come tonight.

Will Faldo be a wanker if we lose. He is getting a fair old slagging

    for his antics so far.

I hope the Europeans ( The yanks are calling us 'Euros' in commentary, cheeky gits )

do it despite their egocentric captain.

    SINGLES

12:03 p.m. Anthony Kim, United States, vs. Sergio Garcia, Europe.
12:14 p.m. Hunter Mahan, United States, vs. Paul Casey, Europe.
12:25 p.m. Justin Leonard, United States, vs. Robert Karlsson, Europe.
12:36 p.m. Phil Mickelson, United States, vs. Justin Rose, Europe.
12:47 p.m. Kenny Perry, United States, vs. Henrik Stenson, Europe.
12:58 p.m. Boo Weekley, United States, vs. Oliver Wilson, Europe.
1:09 p.m. J.B. Holmes, United States, vs. Soren Hansen, Europe.
1:20 p.m. Jim Furyk, United States, vs. Miguel Angel Jimenez, Europe.
1:31 p.m. Stewart Cink, United States, vs. Graeme McDowell, Europe.
1:42 p.m. Steve Stricker, United States, vs. Ian Poulter, Europe.
1:53 p.m. Ben Curtis, United States, vs. Lee Westwood, Europe.
2:04 p.m. Chad Campbell, United States, vs. Padraig Harrington, Europe.

My prediction 6 all in the singles and we lose the Cup.

Looking at those pairings, I think the Euro's will pull it off. Some are close matches though, like the Furyk-Jiminez match-up, as well as Kim-Garcia.

^Agree. Watching the last few days, the Yanks seem to fold under pressure. Will be close but if many of the match ups go down to the last couple of holes A/S, the Europeans have a good shot.

The "Yanks' deserve to lose just for their crowds! "in the hole" "Boo" not to mention that twatting biplane buzzing in the back ground

The Yanks worked good in pairs, one would make up for the others mistakes. Singles is a different story.

Funny the history of the tournament says the complete opposite.

the europeans usually dominate the pairs and have to hold on in the singles as the Americans come back at them.

    Ignore last time, freak result.

actually Europe haven't lost the singles since oakland in about 1996.

before that was a very different story.

I think it comes down to who has the biggest balls, on an individual basis the Europeans should win, people like McDowell ,Poulter, Harrington, Garcia,Westwood, Jimenez,Stenson & Wilson, all winners.

None of the American players have ever won in Ryder Cup apart from gimpy lefty.

Well, I'm off to go watch and see what happens. Can never stay awake beyond the lunch break but will get a good idea of who's likely to win by then. I hope.

I watched yesterday's play today. Great competition between very evenly matched sides.

Maybe Tiger isn't so good for the yank's side. Everyone was heaping praise on Mickelson until he missed his putt on 18. Now he's back to choker status.

THink I'll go have a look now ...

    Fcuk the Ryder Cup.

1999 - Disgusting incident on the 17th - bordering on 'extreme gamesmanship', or possibly, to put it generously 'plain ignorance of golf rules and etiquette' by the Americans

2001 - Canceled. Yeah '11/9', but, I do get the feeling that if that had occured in Europe and the match was in the US, would it have been canceled? No I dont think so.

Anyway, bollocks to it all.... time for another G&T.

    What's the score?

Looks like the first match is a goner. US five uo after 13, would need a miracle for Garcia to even salvage a half point

Looks now as though this could go right down to the wire. US lead 11 1/2 to 9 1/2.

First CMn, you suprised me, but I guess it just shows my ages.

the Seppos have taken it and fair play to them, they looked like a team for the first time in years, some of the lesser names, Weekley, Mahan, Holmes and Kim seemed to have a far better team spirit than some of the bigger names (Woods, Duvall) in recent times.

Funny, because that was often europes strength to win with guys who were lower in the rankings but a great team

Well done USA, see you in 2 years.

Zinger had a better strategy in his singles lineup, I wonder what it was.

    Pity.

Great run over the past few matches though.

had to come to an end at some point.

    glad it happened to Faldo.

not one of the lads is he?

not a Torrance or a Woosie or a Mark James.

    very unpopular amongst his peers.

Pity really. I enjoyed watching him. He was our great hope in the early days. Guess the good life got the better of him.
